Long ran mcds sh** offense. Cant judge his to's based on that.
That is a fair point, but the decisions AJ made were his. However, he has less experience than Mahoney. He will get better.

Not only that we were only down 4 at half ... LSU had Auburn wrapped up by then up 24-0 and went into cruise control vs MSU and allowed them to sneak back in allowing 13 points in the 4th quarter. We were by far their stiffest test this season thus far ... people just can't allow themselves to like Shafer it is what it is.

We were a bigger test than Auburn but LSU beat Mississippi State 21-19 two weeks ago

Though I agree in part, I point out that LSU missed their first game due to cancellation so they did not get their tune up. Would it have mattered, who knows?

Miss St waited till the 4th to put any points on the board ... LSU dominated play through 3 quarters and owned the LOS until the 4th ... again we were the toughest they played this season ... don't care what the scoreboard says. LSU needed a fluke play to Fournette and a punt return to pull this off. One other thing not mentioned here however I intend to go watch the replay:

We all want Shafer to be aggressive as he was on 4th down in the first half but consider the following, if he doesn't have Dixon run the fake is the Cole Murphy attempt before half easier and more makeable? Granted he should have hit it anyway but by advancing the ball and pushing it to the right hash did that impact the angle enough for Murph to push the ball into the upright? I bet he makes it if they don't run the fake and advance the ball based strictly on trajectory it would have gone in.

Who know, but it was a great call.

I loved the call ... the intent was to get into the endzone ... I just wonder how that impacted the kick ... if it goes in we are talking a 1 score game.
