Membership timeline for the Big East

Full members are the lavender lines. Full members (non-football) are the turquoise lines. Assoc. members (football only) are the red lines. Other Conference is the Yellow lines.

All this is less than 33 years. And they even left out TCU!

Yes. Syracuse is the only Big East school to compete in basketball and football every season since both leagues were formed. That ends next year.

If the Big East were a chemical compound, it would be nitroglycerin.
