Confirmation:
Afternoon all...the whispers from the "STEALTH" side appear to be making noise that is being heard. Importantly, the following should be noted:
1. Florida State Board of Trustees are
not the only board to be told of the negotiations that are ongoing for The ACCnetwork
2. An announcement of The ACCnetwork is probably within 6 months...and the target remains 2016 as previously discussed--it could be earlier but thinking is to do it right may need a until '16.
3. The ACCnetwork will include a significant digital/streaming component that no other conference network has at this time. In fact, Raycom appears to be playing a major roll in what is to be born
4. Funding will come from the Maryland payout as well as investment from the ACC and ESPN
Now here is where the interesting aspects come into play:
A. Notre Dame has limited scheduling no more than 4-5 games outside of ACC beginning 2017--at this time
B. ESPN has discussed the potential of an ACC/SEC package of games exceeding the number presently scheduled--you should take note of ACC-SEC games being scheduled
C. ESPN has floated the idea of a possible association of the ACC and SEC networks--bring football, bball, and other olympic sports that both conferences play well to build content across the board--more to come soon.
Here is one of the first articles to elevate the whispers:

I will bring you more as the spin flows toward public knowledge. As indicated in August:
"As previously discussed, the whispers continue concerning the upcoming ACCnetwork. As those whispers become louder, so does the belief that in early 2016 the final decision will be made. As indicated in a article by David Teel last evening with VT AD Babcock:
"Fans often ask me when they can expect the ACC to launch such a project, and Babcock said
he expects a yes-or-no decision within 18 months.
“That SEC Network is really impressive,” he said. “I believe even before they launched they had more households than
ESPNU. … I think in some respects we need to root for the
SEC Network to do well because ESPN will have the template and we can follow it in 2016.
Additionally, the following list is being checked:
- SEC network successful--to date it has gained carriage necessary to be successful
- ACC signed the GOR--signed
- Univ. Maryland lawsuit -- finalized
- ACC football continues it upward swing...this season important
- No major change in TV viewership takes place in next 2 years nor is projected over next 10 years
My belief, as documented previously, is not if the ACCnetwork happens but when...bet on 2016-2017 at latest to be aired.
It's Good to be 'Cuse!! The Order of the 'Cuse Orange..
