Holy Crap...watch this video..

Wow... I didn't realize it was this much of a home game until watching this video. Holy cow... We own MSG!

wow... the roar and the sea of orange... nicely done

What's the video I'm on my phone so nothing shows up. Can I look it up on youtube?

Like I said in another thread, TV didn't do this one justice at all. The place was ALL Orange (besides the Johnnies student section). I've never seen anything like it at the Garden. There were 16k Syracuse fans in the building 4 hours from our campus. Not too shabby.

I dare anyone to come up with one other school that completely, or almost completely, takes over another teams home court. MSG vs Johnnies, the RAC, Gtown, etc.

Unfortunately that tradition is going to be severely curtailed when we move to the ACC.

My guess is that far more of the fans in Orange at MSG are local alumni...not people who made the 250 mile trip from Syracuse.
Those of us who go the the Garden, the RAC, the ROCK and the Meadowlands to see the Orange realize we'll be seeing very few games in person down the road.

SU should act to make sure there's some annual presence in the NYC area (DC at least has Maryland). Even more importantly, SU should do what the coach has suggested makes sense and that is make sure that
we continue to play G-town and SJU. (Although G-town is the one that really matters).

"New York's College Team" is about to become totally irrelevant in NYC sports.

That's overly pessimistic. I bet we play at MSG just as much regular season in the future whether it be SJU or someone else. I also bet that the ACC tournament will play at MSG on occasion. While we won't take over the RAC anymore it will be replaced with Conte Forum.

New York's College Team is not going to become irrelevant in NYC. In fact, if TGD has his way, it will be more relevant.

If Duke can play a game there then i'm sure MSG will find a way to book SU after all its all about the money and SU attracts the fans.

This video needs to be gift wrapped and sent over to our friends at On the Banks.

i actually couldnt disagree with this more.

Anyone who was at MSG can attest that it was at least 80% SU fans, if not more. To say it was a home game is an understatement. I've never seen anything like it.

And come on, SU ain't stupid, we're not going to abandon our NYC presence when we move to the ACC. I suspect we'll make sure we're in an early season tourney that ends at MSG at least every other year, and I bet we continue an annual home-and-home with St. John's. If anything I think we'll make an effort to do MORE games in NYC when we're in the ACC, not less. Unlike football, for hoops we can fill the Garden and make appearances there extremely viable.

Agree, but no need for a home and home with St. John's...just play them annually at MSG...especially with such a sea of Orange!

after the dunks blew the lid off the Garden, there was a timeout. coming out of the timeout, the Johnnies managed to score off an alley oop dunk. the applause sounded like a golf clap in comparison.
