Dion's dunk and the ensuing crowd reaction. What's the video I'm on my phone so nothing shows up. Can I look it up on youtube?
Unfortunately that tradition is going to be severely curtailed when we move to the ACC.I dare anyone to come up with one other school that completely, or almost completely, takes over another teams home court. MSG vs Johnnies, the RAC, Gtown, etc.

My guess is that far more of the fans in Orange at MSG are local alumni...not people who made the 250 mile trip from Syracuse.
Those of us who go the the Garden, the RAC, the ROCK and the Meadowlands to see the Orange realize we'll be seeing very few games in person down the road.
SU should act to make sure there's some annual presence in the NYC area (DC at least has Maryland). Even more importantly, SU should do what the coach has suggested makes sense and that is make sure that
we continue to play G-town and SJU. (Although G-town is the one that really matters).
"New York's College Team" is about to become totally irrelevant in NYC sports.

Anyone who was at MSG can attest that it was at least 80% SU fans, if not more. To say it was a home game is an understatement. I've never seen anything like it.
And come on, SU ain't stupid, we're not going to abandon our NYC presence when we move to the ACC. I suspect we'll make sure we're in an early season tourney that ends at MSG at least every other year, and I bet we continue an annual home-and-home with St. John's. If anything I think we'll make an effort to do MORE games in NYC when we're in the ACC, not less. Unlike football, for hoops we can fill the Garden and make appearances there extremely viable.
