I think the zone effectiveness is still TBD if we're honest, but glad it worked last night.

It worked against Cal missing Stojakavic and a team that plays a gimmick "draw fouls" strategy to get to the line.

They weren't good.

Let's see it work against some better teams.

One thing I liked was that we didn't over-extend to the perimeter and corners to contest threes. We mostly stayed at home, positionally, and that allowed us to cut off the lanes when they tried to drive. We still fouled a lot, but gave up fewer layups.

I also think the zone is not that bad for defensive rebounding when it's mostly packed in the lane. That's how we used to play it in the old days. Of course the game has changed, but it seemed to work ok.
