A mixture of cuse and ND fans chanted that im a member of isis due to my nationality

That sucks. I got called a jihadi at a Red Robin once because I have a beard and olive skin.. My heritage is French-Canadian and Italian. I laughed but it wasn't a chant at me. I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

Very upsetting that you had to experience that.

Stay strong. There are ignorant people everywhere in the world. You can't totally avoid them. And their IQ (Ignorance Quotient) increases with the amount of alcohol they consume. From my experience, there is only a very small percentage of ignorant people associated with Syracuse University. Not sure about Notre Dame. So, my friend, here is a couple things to keep in mind.

1. If you try to avoid all contact with ignorant people, you will spend your life sitting at home, alone, with the television, telephone and the computer all turned off.

2. "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." Cuse people and those that bleed orange are by and large good people. Not all perfect, but very good. And Syracuse University sports can be an enjoyable respite from the crap of everyday life.

AAM Please don't lose faith in the program because of drunk idiots. I lived in NYC for years and as with most fanbases there is a mixture of awesome diehard cuse fans and a few people who like the cuse in a big game or when winning but see the game really as a social opportunity show off to friends and get way too drunk.

You're a great poster, and clearly fan, don't want to lose you. If they joined in a cheer with ND fans regarding anything ...Disloyal/softnosed... this particular cheer... excommunicated.

Wow...I'm so sorry you had to go through that and hope that you know that most people (I hope and pray) don't feel that way. The news has people all hopped up and angry/scared and for some it doesn't take a lot for some to have an excuse to be cruel and unjust.

Awful and don't blame you at all. But hopefully we will get the chance to prove that we're not all racist and ignorant a*******.

what those individuals were doing is revealing their bias and lack of class and not one thing about you. it is sad that in 2014 many of us still behave in such a classless manner. there are segments of our culture who are so devoid of any sense of community and so myopic they only see things through the lens of fear-based belief; without any compassion for anyone who is not just like them. unfortunately we are living in a tough bi-polar time when the divide between evolved individuals and these dinosaur-thinking relics is so acute.
this too shall pass; in time.

Sorry to hear that happened. There was also a nasty fight in the third level. You can find it on YouTube. Please remember must people are good, a few bad one screw it up.

Every fan base has its @$$holes. Don't let the <1% have any effect on you

Person I was with heard it and mentioned it to me (I was hitting the head and missed it).

Screw them. You simply have to consider the source. Hang with us we're more fun anyway.

Ugh, that sucks. Sorry that you went through that. I fear that this type of stuff will only get worse when stories like what happened in Oklahoma start hitting the news cycle.

Person I was with heard it and mentioned it to me (I was hitting the head and missed it).
My reaction wasnt appropriate but I apologize if you or your group saw me lose my cool

those ignorant . I'm sorry that happened. Please come back to the board again soon.

Two things that define racists: (1) They're ignorant, and (2) They're Cowards!
You can't allow a bunch of ignorant cowards to determine who, how, and what you are.
Cowards are very brave when surrounded by those of like-mind.
Cowards also embrace ignorance as it provides a respite from their own requisite fear and inadequacy.
NEVER let the cowardly and the ignorant define you.
I'm an SU fan, and I'll be damned if some ignorant cowards serve as your lasting memory of my alma mater...and there are more of us, than there are of them.
Stick around, don't walk away & let them win.

Lose faith in New Yorkers.that stuff isn't happening in syracuse or Indiana

I am sorry you had to go through that but you can't let the actions of a few degenerates shape your view of all people going forward. And you can't lose faith in all people because of those few. There really are a lot of good people out there, more than you think actually.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” - Mark Twain

Clearly the people that did this don't travel much and probably don't ever get outside of their own heads.

"Racist thought and action says far more about the person they come from than the person they are directed at.”
Chris Crutcher
