Oh trust me, forget a bus I would have made them walk back to Syracuse. I just think Red's thought process is on damage mitigation so he gets another year.

yeah if you listen to the press conference red only cares that it looks like a game...that its close

hes fine if they lose closely...cuz then his spot is less in danger

so obviously he would never risk taking out the core piece, carlos...who makes the engine run and allows all of the other players to perform

This year is lost; I'd force-feed him minutes (unless he's not physically up to it) to help him get his sea legs so he at least has a Chance to be a contributor down the road.

McLeod has looked pretty garbage - but did have a minute or so against UT where he looked okay enough. But our PG looks like garbage for 40 MPG so I don't think we can judge him much in his 4 minutes this year.

Much like Cuffe I wouldn't advocate for big minutes at all - but tossing him out there and playing some zone, or having him at the back end when we press instead of Lampkin might be something I'd consider. He'll foul out fast enough, but who cares.

Dude had big minutes on and up-n-down Florida State team as a true frosh and year 2, I think as well. Unless we somehow made him a considerably worse basketball player since he got here (or he's hurt), I can't imagine he can't play for us at all.

At this point, it seems to me you have to start Cuffe and Moore at Guard; Donnie Freeman and Jyare Davis, and I don't know who else.

Eddie has to play some, but not as much as we have to play him. He misses like 3 lay ups every game.

Carlos clearly plays too much. Cuffe is adequate, may get better with more time

Bell doesn't play defense. Eddie doesn't play defense aside from his defensive rebounds. He shies away from guys near the rim, turns his back on plays seemingly on purpose, like to have plausible deniability that he can't cover a guy at the rim.

Moore, honestly, doesn't play much defense, either, although Maryland was hitting them from 25-27 feet. Donnie gets rebounds, but is weak on the offensive boards, and still lacks strong hands, is not tough enough.

OK, let's just state the obvious.

This was only the 2nd time Cuffe has played more than 10 minutes. Both times, he's scored 10 points. He's shot 4-7 from three in those 2 games.

Carlos was 1-5, playing 40 minutes, did not get to the line and did not make a 3. I'm not looking to kill the kid, but he played far less vs. Texas and Texas Tech, and we nearly won both those games. Sure, we had JJ, but I don't understand why such a limited player is Red's "rock" that he's building the offense on.

Cuffe had 3 turnovers against Maryland - same as Freeman, Davis & Lampkin, and Carlos had 4. Moore only had 2.

How bad would Moore and Cuffe be, running the floor for 15 minutes as a tandem? We know that Lucas Taylor is not more than a 10-15 minute defensive sub.

Is Carlos REALLY that indispensable? I just don't see it.
