Sounds silly but the weather could have hurt us today. Never good to get a half of foot of snow on a visit weekend.

Well they certainly seemed to be having a good time at the game.

Great for them to see the place at its finest when we came back at the end.

I'd have to say the loud 30k at the end of the hoop game outweighed a few inches of snow. And the best part, the Florida kids are solid, the kids needing to be won over are from Chicago and St. Louis, I don't think they were scared by a few inches of the white stuff.

I've never completely understood why this is such a problem for us. There are lots of schools with crappy winter weather. You never hear anyone else having the weather mentioned as a downside as much as you do for SU. 19 out of the 32 NFL teams are in the cold weather belt. If these kids are good enough to play for pay, it's far more likely that they'll have to play in the cold and outdoors to boot. At least we've got a dome. Maybe it's all the snow? You can "see" the winter weather in Syracuse more than you can in State College or Ann Arbor or South Bend or Minneapolis...

This is true it's snowed a Ton in Chicago this year with all the polar vortexing and last night's crazy loud game with 30,000+ showing up in spite of the snow showed them the pride this community takes in going about what they want regardless of snow. Thankfully today we have one of those beautiful CNY after the snowstorm days where the sun is bright and the snow is fresh and sticking to all the trees.

Boeheim made a comment years ago that the weather in Syracuse just weeds out the recruits who aren't serious. It's not exactly news that it gets cold in the winter around here.

Agreed. If I were a recruiter, I'd be constantly pointing out how if you want to play in the NFL, you better be ready to beat the elements. Use the weather as a challenge to the recruits and talk about how it'll prepare them for life in the NFL (even if they aren't likely to make it that far).

Syracuse is a great place to go to college and to live. A lot is how you look at things. 4 beautiful seasons...! And if you are cold in the winter, concentrate on your studies, weight lifting, and the pretty girl down the hall may want to be warm under the blanket...lol. Plus, recently their was a national publication that pointed out Syracuse was the best city in the country to live in as far as weather...when you added the chances of national disasters! So it is safe her too!!!

Exactly! the weather if you can't handle winter weather then don't dont come here. It means you're just weak and won't be any good any ways

I actually think that the snow is kind of a novelty to the kids from FL. I like it for the first month - it's after month 4 that it wears on you. And they don't have to shovel or snow blow or drive in it really.

I still haven't shoveled yet,so it can't have hurt us too much.

If it starts snowing, sleeting, raining or torrential winds in the Dome recruiting will suffer. Til then FB players are guaranteed at least 5/6 games a year where their talents are not beholden to the good graces of Mama Nature.
