How bad is the Big East?

Just a comparison ... not an opinion. Starting to sound hostile.

B1G: OSU, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan State: ranked Northwestern, Purdue: receiving votes
BE: Syracuse, Louisville, UConn, Pitt, Marquette, G'town: ranked None other receiving votes

B1G: Undefeated teams: Indiana, Illinois
BE: Undefeated teams: SU, Marquette

Pomeroy ratings (top 25)

B1G: Wisconsin #1, OSU #3, Michigan State #12, Indiana #13, Purdue #14
BE: Syracuse #5, Marquette #7, L'ville #10, G'town #18, UConn #23

Remember, just a comparison ... not an opinion either way.

Well, maybe 1 opinion: The BE is good at the top (perhaps 5, at most teams) ... and the rest are so much less ... I think that you will see G'town drop savagely once they are out of their OOC.

When other conferences have complained about the # of teams in the BE in the past it was often a cop-out because our 8th best team was still better than their 5th best team. But when you start comparing our 7th vs their 7th it becomes a legitimate gripe. You need to prorate the standings to be fair imo.

I understand that but being fair has nothing to do with being better. So the BE has a better chance to be better every season because it has more teams that doesn't change the fact that its the best 1-8 every season compared to all others 1-8 teams and that its almost always got 2-3 in the top ten that ca beat anyone.

If the B1G is the best conference this year I have to wonder how?
