How come Hunt's series was so much faster?

Rewatching, Hunts series reminded me alot of last years efficient high speed offense..

I really hope so.

But I'm also cognizant that he was playing against NW's backups.

Will be interesting to see how Hunt performs against 1st string defenders. Have to believe that he's earned a shot to get some prime time PT.

He was playing against third stringers, and he's also been in the program for three years. I understand this is a new offense technically, but he's still more familiar with the personnel and he had the entire spring and summer to work on mastering it. He had a head start on Allen, and it's pretty clear that Allen is lagging a little on understanding the playbook, at least more than the coaches wanted to let on in the preseason.

3rd stringers have nothing to do with how much more efficient the offense look. The plays got in quicker, and the ball was snapped much faster. If nothing else i'd like to see Hunt start in order for our offense to run with this tempo

Coaches weren't trying to out scheme anything. There was no thinking on the sidelines. Just signaling in sir basic plays.

I'm also not trying to take anything away from Hunt, whom I like. Just saying the dynamics were completely different.

We better give each guy a couple series in the first half.

The coaches said they shortened the play book in the 2nd half. That allowed them to go faster. I'd expect to see more of that in the next two games.
