Language, language, language. The father played at Georgetown, I believe.
How do you think his parents met?Could be worse.
He could have said "Your Mother played at Georgetown".
Your father played at Georgetown
Yeah. 40+ years of uninterrupted success carries a lot of weight.I don't think it's luck. Duke takes basketball very seriously and wouldn't tolerate a down-turn in its program.
Tourney results are fleeting and overrated. This board has leaned on them hard because it was all we had during the early part of our slide. Live in the top 10 and consistently send players to the lottery, and the media will talk about you for 4 months instead of 3 weeks. He’s going to get both of those guys extremely well paid as a result of their draft position. Plus well paid while in school. That recruits itself, regardless of silly things like Tourney results.
In the BE we could recruit against anybody. In the ACC we cannot recruit against anybody. Its not a matter of luck.
Our brand has taken a significant hit and it will need some rebuilding. Right now we are not as close to the blue bloods as we once were, nor are we in that "next tier" below the blue bloods like we used to be.
DrinkIn the BE we could recruit against anybody. In the ACC we cannot recruit against anybody.
Not sure how old you are, but do you remember how seikally came to play for jab. A soccer player, he just walked into coaches' office and said he wanted to play hoops. That may have been the origin of JAB saying you can't teach height. The rich just keeps getting richer. Man I hate Duke.
You think “BE players” weren’t being recruited by ACC schools? This is such an irrelevant point that it confounds the mind how you continue to bring it up.In the BE we could recruit against anybody. In the ACC we cannot recruit against anybody.
He was just before my time at Syracuse. My freshman year was Sherm, Owens, Coleman, Stevie, and LeRon Ellis. It was a great way to start my run as a fan. At the time I just thought this was how we should be every year. Not sure how old you are, but do you remember how seikally came to play for jab. We were so spoiled. Let's get back to that!He was just before my time at Syracuse. My freshman year was Sherm, Owens, Coleman, Stevie, and LeRon Ellis. It was a great way to start my run as a fan. At the time I just thought this was how we should be every year.
Wrong.
He is the son of Ruben Boumtje Boumtje and Joakim Noah.
Duh.
Hey, this is a family show. No profanity!!Could be worse.
He could have said "Your Mother played at Georgetown".
Douglas and Ellis were not on the same squad. Sherm graduated the year before LeRon arrived. He was just before my time at Syracuse. Sure does. Which means it’s about the money. They didn’t land the players they did consistently over the years without a few bag men. Just ask the Maggette’s and Carlos Boozer.Yeah. 40+ years of uninterrupted success carries a lot of weight.
Ha. So much for my memory. I remember the other guys tho (billy, derrick, leron, and stevie). Who played point back then? I can't remember the 5th starter on that team.Douglas and Ellis were not on the same squad. Sherm graduated the year before LeRon arrived.
