How difficult would it be to strictly run the option ala georgia tech. It seems as if I strenght is with the running backs, so why not go wishbone, old school and throw occasionally?

You have to recruit and build for it with OL, RB, and QB. If you're QB can't pitch or your RB can't catch it you run the risk of putting the ball on the turf quite often.

Not worth it IMO. GA Tech has issues recruiting. Why would a WR want to go there? Also not many high schools run the option anymore so it is hard to find the right QB to run it. Going with the Pat White WV read option makes a lot more sense. But even that is hard as Pat White doesn't grow on trees.

Why subject a slight, physically undeveloped frosh QB to the hits he would take running an option offense full time?

It's probably a little premature to give up on our current offense ;). It may or may not work - but we are one 47-0 game in.

Spread offense is an option offense, just the option for 2000, not 1970.

Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas might disagree with that point. Even tough touches are limited, you don't end up double and triple teamed.

Neither of them were recruited by Paul Johnson. GA Tech recruiting wise should be right on the tails of FSU, Miami, and Clemson. Instead they are closer to us. IMO that has a lot to do with their system.
