Unless your team is playing overseas which is allowed every 4-5 years, the week before Midnight Madness, maybe longer, a team can have two hours worth of practices. Most teams used 1 hour Thursday to get he frosh ready and 1 hour or less scrmmage on Friday before Midnight to have fun on ESPNU or ESPN3..

In 2005, the rule was changed to allow the first practice to start at 7 p.m. on the closest Friday to Oct. 15.
