Red knows the plan, or at least his potenital role in the plan.Unless Red already knows what the decision is.
Not that anyone should be surprised, but the Men's basketball and football programs support all the other programs according to that 3rd link. I'm sure TV contracts are a big part of it but fannies in the seats must be integral as well. Are we one of the few schools where hoops profit is #1 and football #2 or is that common.I have seen this # in 2 places. Still looking .

Agree. People act like there is only one scenario or fact set seemingly making it a poor decision for Red. There's a number of scenarios that would make it either good or questionable decision.Unless Red already knows what the decision is.
It has to be the worst maac job. Tiny commuter school in a bad area with bad facilities. But they are the talk of the town right now. People who don't follow hoops who never heard of st peters are going nuts over this run.St Peter’s was pretty much ranked the worst job in the MAAC. Poor facilities, low budget. What Holloway is doing is absolutely incredible. It is not sustainable and is still not a good job. Once Holloway leaves I assume most kids to jump into the portal. Also, Holloway. What’s the saying? HE GONE
I hear you, RF. I agree that having a plan does not necessarily mean that it is Red. I'm fairly confident that there is a plan in place with contingencies for an eventual successor. I would guess, and it's only a guess, that Red is one of the contingencies. We already know that JB thinks it's a "good plan." JB talked about the plan openly and then tried to walk it back with the "it's the same plan that's been in place 35 years" nonsense. JW will have the final say regardless.Red is hoping that he's part of the plan, But that doesn't mean he is or that there's even a plan at this point.
Siena beat St. Peters twice this year but this is not the same team. Think of how well JAB prepares his team for March and it's very similar except these kids have more buy in and run those intricate sets to a T and on defense, even though they aren't necessarily more athletic, they are able to stay in front of their guys with lots of double team help outs. They've taken UK, Murray St and Purdue out of their game and controlled the tempo.Amazing what Holloway has done the last 2-3 weeks - but what's really interesting is that Saint Peter's lost to St. Francis Brooklyn this year by 11 and lost 6 games in a league that, outside of Iona, was pretty subpar.
It isn't as though they ran through the MAAC.
Get hot at the right time and anything is possible.

I agree that 99.9% that there is no concrete plan in place but feel hopeful that ADJW and JAB have had conversations about when JAB's career will end (maybe at the end of this upcoming season). Unless Red is named HCIW, then you know there is no succession plan is in place. Not trying to store up an argument, sincerely that, but I'm fairly confident that there is no plan in place that involves a successor, and JB was talking completely out of his butt.
So while red or others may eventually be involved when a plan is formulated, that plan hasn't been established to date.

True. Red was promoted to Associate HC when Hop left in 2017 so he could have been been named HCIW sometime after that. If that is the plan.Hop was named HCIW years before SU issued an official press release.
Red could already have the job, but it's not public yet.

Yup, agree 100%.The plan is when he’ll retire. He even said he might have some input but the new HC would be up to JW. Nothing more nothing less.

800k to a million. It’s not happening.
I mean, we're sub 0.500 in March ACCT games and 5 of the last 8 years have had zero NCAA tourney wins. Yes, I know 1 FF and 2 S16 but it's been totally feast or famine, and more famine than feast.Think of how well JAB prepares his team for March
I wouldnt lose any sleep over it. Pales in comparison to the Hopkins lossI personally don't see it happening but anyone not want to see him get an opportunity to win the lottery.
This isn’t true. There was no tourney in 2020 (so no teams had any tourney wins that season) and were banned in 2015, so you can’t count those. We didn’t make it in 2017 and 2021 and lost our first game in 2019.I mean, we're sub 0.500 in March ACCT games and 5 of the last 8 years have had zero NCAA tourney wins.
