Second off, and I'm not holding my breath on this, but it would be nice if we use our full scholarship allotment once that's restored to hedge against injuries

There have been few, if any, seasons in last two decades where SU had more than 10 scholarship players. And of those, typically, the 10th or 11th guy was either a walk-on, sitting out a year, or not long for SU anyway (e.g., Josh/Dayshawn Wright, Sean Williams, DBM, etc.).

For a long, long time SU was very fortunate in the injury department.

That all seemed to change in the Flynn/Greene FR season when both Devo and Rautins tore ACLs. Since then it's been a non-stop parade of injuries. Crazy.

Hate to hear that. Not only is he our only backup scholarship guard, I was encouraged by how he played in his 11 minutes against Pitt.

I'm assuming this is what you are implying, but I can't envision Chukwu and Sidibe on the floor at the same time. Could very well be wrong, but I don't think we've seen it once all season. Obviously, circumstances have changed.

It sucks for Howard Washington and I hope it's not a major injury. He was just starting to get some minutes and did some good things when he had the opportunity.

I think Braedon Bayer is not your average intramural all star type walkon. He was the guy who got Geno's minutes in the Orange-White preseason game and he pretty much held his own and didn't try to do anything too crazy. Granted, that's the only time I have seen him play but he has decent size and will work hard if he is called upon

Justin Thomas. That is still the funnest thing ever. Every guy in the zone standing there exhausted and Justin Thomas is waving his arms like he is doing jumping jacks. I remember a timeout and Boeheim is explaining something to Thomas and Raf says "When this game started I bet that Boeheim didn't think he would be instructing Thomas on how to defend the top of the zone."

Any chance Jimmy has any of his own eligibility left ? After all back in those years frosh weren't eligible and players could only play three years max, so just maybe he has a year left.

And besides, even at age 70, it wouldn't surprise me if Jimmy could be one of the better shooters on this squad.

Yeah, I'm implying it might have to be done out of necessity. JB will play the starters 40 and only use Bourama at center if that's how things can unfold.

Also, Georgia Tech really is no deep either but they have inside guys who can get our forwards and centers in foul trouble. The issue is there's little chance this is a short term injury.

It'll be interesting if we need to put Oshae or Marek up top, which one do we choose. OB is better suited perhaps but we need his rebounding. I'm guessing that won't happen unless it's an emergency. Bayer will be the guy. You guys are joking about Red Jr. but either he or Herleighy (sp?) are 8th on the depth chart. Probably Red but Herleighy is a backup forward now. I cannot believe I'm typing this stuff.
