high cholesterol and plaque? It’s what’s in his heart that matters
And how do we know what is in his heart other than going by his own words? It’s what’s in his heart that matters
Just playing devil's advocate here, because this is little more than a distraction in the broader picture of a dysfunctional society, but the use of Catholic is very much an essential part of Huggins' poor attempt at humor. Just saying, "fogs" without the descriptor "Catholic", would not elicit a humorous reaction.I took his comment as “[slur] who are Catholic”. Like, Catholic was just a descriptor the way you might call out the color of the shirts they’re wearing. It seems like others are assuming he takes issue with Catholics. Idk, it could go either way, but the Catholic part of it seemed inconsequential to me.
Id venture to guess a solid amount of raising cane and arbysAnd how do we know what is in his heart other than going by his own words?
Huggins acted like he was hanging out in his man cave at home with a couple old college buddies is what makes it so shocking.I would guess he was drunk off his arse or he is one stupid SOB.Just playing devil's advocate here, because this is little more than a distraction in the broader picture of a dysfunctional society, but the use of Catholic is very much an essential part of Huggins' poor attempt at humor. I know these things, because I like to inject inappropriate comments into conversations amongst drinking buddies because the shock value can leverage something nominally funny into a spit-out-your drink funny moment (it can also backfire). But, these are things I would use only amongst confidants and not pronounced in public or on the record.
You mean as a Catholic(Roman), the word catholic simply means all encompassing. As a catholic i’d prefer he off
Why?I long for the day when people could say something offensive and it’s not a news story.
Very Christ likeAs a catholic i’d prefer he off
Considering 99% of people in corporate America would be fired for what he said I think it’s worth reporting. Talk about special privileges for being a rich successful basketball coach.I long for the day when people could say something offensive and it’s not a news story.
Oh, I didn't realize he bought you a beer. That changes everything. Autry is on borrowed time now.False

I always liked Bob Huggins. I remember when he first became coach at WVU and we played them for the first time at the Dome, he gave a great interview praising JB and saying JB’s critics were idiots, of course with his trademark dry and salty humor. I always appreciated that.It is worse. He said it twice and knew he was live. But he won't lose his job. He said it while working in the "right" place.

Very classy of you.I bought him tequila. And the bridge troll swinger looking hag he was with
They would start the statue building if he were at Penn State.I haven't heard the word used in over a decade so honestly for someone to do so on air... well IDK or care if you are punished. Huggins is at the end of his career and has earned a boatload of money hardly a sympathetic figure. He does work for one of the very few institutions that he could get away with this and it would be forgotten pretty quickly though its not really apples to apples him saying this as WVU coach vs somewhere else.
Because I grew up learning to ignore people when they say inappropriate or offensive stuff. Sticks and stones…Why?
But he is in Morgantown, WVUnfortunately for Huggins we are not back in the day.
Is it realistic to categorize this episode as "hate". It was stupid but the word "hate" is thrown around way too much IMO.Why? There is far too much hate in this country. And in this world. It is long past time that people are called out for hating people because they are different from them. There is a mass shooting for every day of the year. You don't think offensive statement are where that starts?
People say stupid stuff all the time. If you're interested in the person, it may be reason to take a closer look at what they do. If you're close to the person, it's a reason to advise them to stop. It's not proof nor a significant indicator of who they are. Why?
Just my opinion, but forcing bigots to apologize doesn’t lead to any meaningful change. They aren’t remorseful. They’ll put out a press statement so they don’t lose their job, and then they usually just try harder to keep those thoughts out of the public arena. Why? There is far too much hate in this country.
