I would add, "in private" to what you said. Public deeds are often performed for show and can have little to do with what is in one's heart. His deeds.

Is "making transgender jokes and using homophobic slurs on a midday radio show" not an action?Sort of like "stand back and stand by," huh?
Wonder if it includes a bonus for Randy Edsall.
Lol
Very classy of you.
Strongly disagree. It absolutely does. Kids are watching this situation. It may not change Huggins -- 70-year-olds usually don't change. But young people will pick up on whether what he said is socially accepted or whether there are consequences.Just my opinion, but forcing bigots to apologize doesn’t lead to any meaningful change. They aren’t remorseful. They’ll put out a press statement so they don’t lose their job, and then they usually just try harder to keep those thoughts out of the public arena.
People feel what they feel. It’s rare that being called out leads to a genuine epiphany.
Yes, words certainly can be actions. Is "making transgender jokes and using homophobic slurs on a midday radio show" not an action?
Anyway, I don't really care if Huggins gets fired over this or not. I don't think he will, because they seem to have the pieces to make a run this year and they don't have a succession plan as far as I'm aware. And it's pretty telling that he hasn't been suspended pending review of the incident. It's more likely that he is made to go to sensitivity training and maybe sit out a cupcake game or two.
Probably still the highest paid public employee in the state.“Huggins' amended salary reduces what he makes from $4.2 million to $3.2 million.”
whatever.
yeah...not really affecting a 70 year old man who's been paid millions for over like 30+ years and wears sweat suits every day.Probably still the highest paid public employee in the state.
A bad or mediocre season and he's out. Luckily, he's got Jesse to save the day.Sadly hes a dead man walking. I hope he keeps his job but i dont expect him too
He is. Their football coach is not doing enough to get paid more.Probably still the highest paid public employee in the state.
