Sort of like "stand back and stand by," huh?

Is "making transgender jokes and using homophobic slurs on a midday radio show" not an action?

Anyway, I don't really care if Huggins gets fired over this or not. I don't think he will, because they seem to have the pieces to make a run this year and they don't have a succession plan as far as I'm aware. And it's pretty telling that he hasn't been suspended pending review of the incident. It's more likely that he is made to go to sensitivity training and maybe sit out a cupcake game or two.

So West Virginia U saves a million bucks.
Maybe they can use that million to get another portal guy

Just my opinion, but forcing bigots to apologize doesn’t lead to any meaningful change. They aren’t remorseful. They’ll put out a press statement so they don’t lose their job, and then they usually just try harder to keep those thoughts out of the public arena.

People feel what they feel. It’s rare that being called out leads to a genuine epiphany.
Strongly disagree. It absolutely does. Kids are watching this situation. It may not change Huggins -- 70-year-olds usually don't change. But young people will pick up on whether what he said is socially accepted or whether there are consequences.

Yes, words certainly can be actions.

I would almost bet that salary reduction is just a PR move and he’ll be compensated somewhere/at some time to recoup it. Note that they didn’t say that money would be donated to an appropriate charity or organization…. Or did they?

And that salary reduction—that’s just for one year, right? Not for as long as he’s employed?

June is Pride Month so the sensitivity training should include a trip to Rehoboth Beach.

Sadly hes a dead man walking. I hope he keeps his job but i dont expect him too

I'd bet behind the scenes they are discussing exit strategy after this season or in the next 2 years
