I don't know if anyone has seen the early

The last time we had a 10-3 season we got all the preseason love and rankings. We backed it up with 5-7 and made what ended up being a 3-9 Maryland team look like 2001 Miami. Especially with the schedule and younger roster, we’re not going to get any love in the preseason rankings. I have no idea how next season is going to go. I do know we have more speed and size in the trenches which makes me think that if everything clicks, we may be better overall this upcoming season even if it doesn’t reflect in our record.

college football mags yet but I did yesterday. They don't think much of us.
Athlons ranks the units and not one of our units ranked in the top 10 in
the ACC. Not one.
It’s probably fair.

Not much returning production on offense and team lost multi-year starters at all three levels on defense.

Remember when McCord was supposed to be the 11th best quarterback in the ACC last season?
McCord had a body of work and pedigree. Only an idiot would say that.

From last year

Kyle McCord named to Davey O'Brien Award Class of 2024

This year there’s quite a few guys with back up experience, but nothing established. Going from a team with one of the highest total starts on the roster to one of the lowest.

Most returning impact are Gill, Grant, and Duce. JRS, Nixon, and Willis flashed. Jobity, Jacquez, Perry have been rotational and injured a lot.

I think It’s warranted, all of the most impactful players from last year are gone. The team has good potential, but not much proven production.
Every new team is unproven each year when many of the star players are not there from the previous for one reason or another. We had star players from previous years that did not even play last season. Yet I would say those that replaced them performed and at times we wished some others in their place. I was disheartening to see the previous stars not play due to injury, replacement, or preference of coach at the same time. Production isn't a team, it is a factory. We shouldn't consider sports a factory, but an evolution of game play, teamwork, and respect for decisions made. I believe the team did well, and will continue to do so.

I got oceanside (Holywood Beach) suites with a kitchen right down from Margaritaville and all for a day or two in advance and waiting for the tailgate.
and I live 33 minutes from the Stadium.

I think D line is top ten. And clearly receivers. Maybe secondary.

As usual, the key to everything is O line. If they are as good as last year (not that high a bar), then they, Angeli, and RBs will all be top ten groups too.

As Sufan59 said, the most prolific passer in ACC history, ( a 5 star QB, coming off an 11 win season for Ohio State) was ranked 11 by a supposedly reputable analyst.

If Angeli transferred to Miami or FSU he would be top 5.

Its hard to argue any specific units because we lost significant contributors on any that were good. Keep in mind that there are 17 teams in the ACC these days. We will be facing a murderers row of opponents that surely will not help the stats. In general its hard to fault their rankings, but I think our units will ultimately prove better than projections with Fran and company at the helm for another year.

Offense in general has to take a step back with the loss of McCord, but not sure how much with Angeli coming in. Should still be solid. I think we will be very good at WR but not a ton of proven talent or production for them to list why we should be top 10.

In general, I think the Defense should be at least as good as last year. Especially after so many pieces being in a familiar system now. They should be able to build on that. I think the DL unit makes a little jump as a collective experienced unit. Its pretty deep. Should have lots of young talent at DB and Fran and Joe Schaefer should be able to get them ready pretty quickly.

Many units will probably end up being just inside the top 10 at the end of the year.

It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. We have a lot of big shoes to fill, but we also have a lot of young talent and some nice transfers. We should be confident until Fran and the team give us a reason not to be.
