but I was secretly hoping all week long that the Georgetown game would go into overtime, just to piss off all the UNC/Duke fans who were waiting for the cutaway to their game.

The main reason I went to the game was just in case it went to overtime. I wouldn't want to risk not seeing the overtime by having ESPN switch over to catch the opening tip of the greatest rivalry in all of sports history in the entire galaxy.

In all its glory, and not to long into it there was a tiny box on the upper right corner of the screen tallying the Duke UNC score.

You obviously didn't wager anything. But will take the win, and the Duke/NC delay is a solid bonus.

Television didn't miss much. I'm kind of glad America didn't have to sit through the loudspeakers blaring "Simply the Best" to an empty court and a few thousand people waiting around for the alma mater.

I'd love to know what Boeheim said to the team when he huddled them up before leaving the court, though. He looked pretty animated.

Ha funny you mention that because some friends and I were talking about that yesterday morning and it was the first thing I thought of when we went into overtime.

A friend of mine is a cousin of the Plumlee brothers, and she sent me a text with about a minute to go saying that "my boys" needed to hurry up and win the game so she didn't miss tipoff.
