They get one warning. For a second offense they are taken outside and shot.Stop telling the freshmen at Home to the Dome to jingle their keys on 3rd down.

Let me add that when we make bowl games, basketball regionals, etc., and the University puts together a fan package, let's try to make it a bit more realistic with the pricing. I get it that you guys want to maximize revenues for the program, but too often a fan can put together a much more affordable package with better seats (by far!) doing it themselves instead of doing it through the University.
While I'm at it - better food options. The barely-cooked hotdogs are disgusting, and can't we do better than chips and cheese "nachos"?
Solid ideas.Develop a really informative and useful location-based mobile app for fans attending the Dome. If you had iBeacons set up in the Dome (cost is not much), you could push out all sorts of info in real time -- e.g. info on the latest scores, the shortest lines for food, the chance to meet former players, the best traffic routes home, best lots for post-game tailgating and info on what's happening on the field (injury reports or stats).
A good location-based app would afford an opportunity for someone from SU or the Dome to meet long-time season ticketholder or "high roller" fans when they enter. Maybe you meet someone who has been coming to games since the 1980s and give them a signed jersey when they walk in the door.
You can monetize a lot of this by doing push advertising from local businesses and the university (e.g. 10% off a jersey at the bookstore if SU wins). Or, maybe you turn the app over to the entrepreneurial program at SU and see what they can come up with.
We are where we are on the field but the fan experience itself is changing rapidly right now and there is no reason that SU can not be at the forefront of it. Apologies if this is all being done. Great question by the way. Very solid job reaching out.
Loaded nachos? I Live at The Dome and somehow i have missed this. What is on the loaded nachos? I always thought the double cheese and extra extra jalapenos was the pinnacle of stadium nosh...im tempted to get 2 each game.I hear you. They have definitely added some food items and drink items which is nice. Sweet potato fries, wine slushies, loaded nachos, chicken tenders, etc.
good to hear that. I haven't been to the dome since Maryland. They did paint it. It was Orange for the Duke intro to Otto, though even if you were there I can see how you may have missed it in the chaos of the pregame on Saturday.
They've got Deep Fried Deliciousness as my girl calls it over by us in 119. Chicken Fingers, onion rings, etc. over by the Saranac beer stand(my deliciousness btw)Loaded nachos? I have a few ideas with students but it's all a lot of moving parts. They are a tough grab at every college. You'll have a % that will never come no matter what, a % that will always come no matter what, and a % that can be swayed to one side or the other. The key is enhancing their experience which I am trying to play on.
As far as replays go - Cheriehoop - you've got a point. I think we made major improvements in year two of the screens and I'm sure we will play more with them in basketball and more so again in 2015

They still do the Quad walk. They just do it super early in the day. The players still walk by and touch the Ernie statue.
FYI, the Courtyard and Residence Inn hotels (same building) in Armory Square offered a free shuttle for guests this season. On the parking, shuttle bus front - that's a key. I used to love the train up from Armory Square. Some pubs and restaurants are supposedly trying to charter rides up the hill for games, but I never ever see them. How about shuttle buses from major suburban malls, like they do for the State Fair?
Dan is there no way to just have the students automatically pay $100 or whatever at the beginning of the year as a "activity fee," and make student tickets to all sporting events free?
Wow... and we all thought DomeDog farts were bad. Im all in.Concession stand behind 126-127. I believe it is salsa, cheese, beef, beans, jalapenos, black olives, sour cream, something like that. Worth it for sure
Kitty Hoynes has a free shuttle as well. I believe a few other Armory bars still do this. Sharkey's in Liverpool was doing it for a while too.FYI, the Courtyard and Residence Inn hotels (same building) in Armory Square offered a free shuttle for guests this season.
A lot of schools do students free - and they don't come. Schools who went with free student tickets then added a price to them so there was a value to it, and still struggle to fill the stands.
I had a $100+ fee at Cortland for medical coverage (which I was on my parents at the time so i never used it) which would have gotten me antibiotics for when i was sick but i had no idea i had access to it. I think its a fair worry that students would have no sense in coming because they don't truly believe they have paid for anything
Spot on. When they painted the thin fronts of the levels it made a HUGE difference. It would be intimidating if they painted the back walls Orange as well. Would love to see that.Clean/brighten up the dome. It's got a dark, cavernous feel to even when full. Adding orange in the seating areas has been mentioned (and should be addressed) but also the large concrete faces behind the 300s could stand to be orange as well. Would make the place appear more expansive and full. Even with fans to the wall, it appears empty. The orange at the back of the 100s, and on the face of the 200 and 300 levels do this a bit.
As a college student I would disagree with this. We get into our D1 sports for free and always have a great student section. I know if people had to pay $20 or whatever it is, it would not even be close. Isn't this evident when you allow freshman in for free and the student section is huge?
The one issue that should be addressed prior to next season is the process where the university confirms who purchased the Orange seat backs. For the second straight year I arrived for the opening game only to find out that my seat back which I purchased in July was not installed again this season. Three other people in my row also purchased seat backs so we spent 30 minutes at guest services trying to get the mess straightened out. There were some very frustrated season tickets holders at guest services who had proof on their iPhones that they purchased the seat backs but guest services refused to install them. Our seats were ultimately installed shortly after kickoff but there should be a better system in place to prevent this from happening every year. One thought is to give every season ticket holder a seat back at no cost as a way to say thank you for supporting the football program. All,
I'm not sure what to say here. I've been out sick the past two days and was dealing with it at the game Saturday. Very happy how the dance performance turned out, but everything else I always leave to you guys.
However I need help here.
The past two games one of our initiatives has been to pull a list of those who bought single game tickets off of ticketmaster and reach out to those patrons. I came up with an email to thank them for purchasing and supporting the program and so on. Everyone loved it and customer service is one of my core values here. Nothing more satisfying than helping fellow 'Cuse fans.
However my next plan here is to send out a thank you email to mini plan & season ticket holders. I know I speak for absolutely everyone in the department by saying thank you for supporting this team.
My point of this post is to get a jumpstart on that. Some of you may be getting an email from me in the upcoming weeks and know why I am doing it -- to thank you and hopefully improve your Dome experience.
So guys lay it on me. Aside from uniforms, coaching, players, etc -- how can I improve your experience. What would you do differently? What stays? What goes? I just want ideas. I want this to be a place you guys come to and truly love coming to over and over like it is for me 2 and a half years into it.
I appreciate the time and thoughts guys.

I don't want to play follow the leader with UNCOne academic credit for Freshmen attending all home games for at least a half. Make them write a two pager on how the game experience could be enhanced.
