I Need Help

I think there is a lot to possibly do for Students. I'm out sick today and for the last 4 hours have just been jotting down info on students and how to improve the section... growing by the hour.

You're right. Free tix for Freshman has definitely helped. I think it can be expanded upon. I was addressing the "activity fee" which could help but could hurt. I think we can do better for sure

I go to a much smaller school than SU so it is not on the same scale, but I know my circle of friends would attend maybe 1/4 of the games they do if they had to pay $20 or more and we are all into sports. Is totally free with a student activity fee the best option? I don't know, I'm sure you have access to more studies on this than I do. In my personal opinion it would definitely improve the student section to take that approach, it is still bounded to success though. Imagine if basketball was free, you can't tell me that wouldn't fill up like every game. I'm sure you have some other great ideas, and if you ever want to run them by a college student or students let me know. Would love to hear them. Go Cuse!

If there's a way of knowing the students who go to the games and stay throughout, can there be some system (bonus, perk) to reward them?

Swipe ID entering, Swipe ID leaving, if they were present for both swipes, provide reward whatever that may be.

All,

I'm not sure what to say here. I've been out sick the past two days and was dealing with it at the game Saturday. Very happy how the dance performance turned out, but everything else I always leave to you guys.

However I need help here.

The past two games one of our initiatives has been to pull a list of those who bought single game tickets off of ticketmaster and reach out to those patrons. I came up with an email to thank them for purchasing and supporting the program and so on. Everyone loved it and customer service is one of my core values here. Nothing more satisfying than helping fellow 'Cuse fans.

However my next plan here is to send out a thank you email to mini plan & season ticket holders. I know I speak for absolutely everyone in the department by saying thank you for supporting this team.

My point of this post is to get a jumpstart on that. Some of you may be getting an email from me in the upcoming weeks and know why I am doing it -- to thank you and hopefully improve your Dome experience.

So guys lay it on me. Aside from uniforms, coaching, players, etc -- how can I improve your experience. What would you do differently? What stays? What goes? I just want ideas. I want this to be a place you guys come to and truly love coming to over and over like it is for me 2 and a half years into it.

I appreciate the time and thoughts guys.

get the staff to honor the seniors at haftime or announced that seniors will be honored 20 mins before kickoff so please arrive to your seats 15-20 mins early

Also in my notes and has been for a while. Trying to get these moving parts realistic. Or if theres a better way to increase attendance. To me no option is ever off the table

Who came up with the DJ in the middle of the student section idea? That seems pretty hilarious/random.
Its awful in my opinion..feels like the cheerleaders trying to tell the fans how to be fans. Its ALMOST as bad as UCONN having a hype man in their booth up in the air..that might have been the most annoying thing ive ever seen at a college football game..and ive been to many.

Also, @ Ga Tech they have a strobe light effect they do with all their video boards on opponents 3rd downs. As a fan it was annoying BUT I'd imagine it could be distracting as hell and borderline disorienting for the opposing QB. Feel free to do that while opposing kickers line up as well.

Shouldn't the staff and the players be in the locker room at halftime having some sort of discussions? You know, football stuff. ;)

They've been honoring Seniors 20 minutes before kickoff for over 30 years. The problem is, our fanbase is trained to arrive 5 minutes before kickoff.

Sadly, had to correct that for accuracy.

Only issue is, students don't all exit the same door, so you'd have to get wayyy more of those scanners

Would love to have some things unique to the Cuse team as well. Get rid of hells bells and welcome to the jungle in favor of whatever the team captains select (obviously nothing obscene) to pump them up. Get rid of the cookie cutter stadium music for something that rotates and gives us an idea who the team is and what they're about vs songs that predate their birth. Might help with student involvement as well.

Trying to come up with quick/cheap/free fixes vs reinventing the wheel and senselessly dumping money we don't have. The dome experience is far from aweful but aside from being a dome, there is nothing really unique about it.

Stop telling the freshmen at Home to the Dome to jingle their keys on 3rd down.

Beg if you have to. So weak. Looks lame as hell on tv, plus if all those kids were clapping their hands instead of jingling their freaking keys, it would make a lot more noise.

Re: students. I wouldn't go full freebies. Once something is totally free, people don't appreciate it. Maybe just the first game when you're a freshman. I think the key is to tie it to basketball. Show up for football, get better basketball tickets. The whole camping out thing started after I was at SU, so not sure how that aspect would work.

Camera angles for people watching at home - move the camera crews and news media to other side of Dome (flip boxes) so that people watching from home see the home team and crowd. We have a stupid set up.

If people at home saw how excited the home crowd was I think you get more people to come out to see a game. For bball you get the proper camera facing the benches - simply stupid stupid setup for football (did I say dumb too?).

This is fantastic. Never thought much about it but the home side is also more densely populated.

I really don't get the camping out for two weeks. I know of people who went out the night before and got row ten. The reason people do it at other schools is because they aren't guaranteed seats, which isn't a problem in a stadium the size of the Dome.
