I Pray That Shamarko is OK

Very scary indeed. Not worth the tackle. DO NOT lead with the helmet!!! No game is worth that type of injury. Was so happy to see him get up and walk off virtually unassisted.

I had seen that as well. But honestly, the kid should have not been able to return.

A key phrase: "He thinks he's OK." The player is often not fully aware of what he's dealing with.

This a particularly morbid thing to think about and I'm not suggesting Shamarko's situation is as bad as this but take a look at the interview former feather weight champion Davey Moore after his 1963 fight with Sugar Ramos:

Moore collapsed in the dressing room and fell into a coma, dying a few days later. He didn't know how badly he was hurt.

Get well soon Shamarko! Very scary moment tonight. You could have heard a pin drop in the Dome. Hope it's nothing serious and he comes back 100% whenever he's ready. He's got a great future.

Kudos to the Pitt players kneeling near him too. Especially Sunseri who you could tell was praying then did the sign of the cross.

Agree on that, real class act on their part.

Hope Sharmarko is ok and I hope we see him back soon. Heart and soul of this defense if you ask me.

Happened in front of me, third level. Heard the impact like I was standing five feet away. Fortunate he walked off..

The way his arms retracted up like that was creepy, I, and the rest of the West Chester Ohio BWW were sure a stretcher would be involved.

Shamarko is one tough muthafvcker.

This will be interesting. He looked fine later but I would say he is definitely going to have to pass a crap ton of neuro screens to even practice...

And you can get knocked out without getting a concussion. Ethanol is really good for that.
