I really couldn't be any more disappointed

Plain and simple - we have a pretty significant talent deficit. This is not new - think back to Taurean Thompson's FR year, and how much PT he received. He was thought to be a major part of our squad for his SO year, before his bizarre transfer. Dude barely plays for Seton Hall this year, and when he did play last year, he logged far less PT than he did for us, as a FR.

Recruiting has been a major issue, no matter how much the JB sycophants proclaim otherwise. Coaching and development as well.

Yep and can’t blame sanctions anymore

A lot of posts in this thread remind me of those in similar threads from the last five years. I’m sure there are a couple of underrated toothpicks being recruited who will surely right the ship in their freshmen year.

When was the last time we had a real center? Legit strong presence in the middle capable of scoring?

Maybe this should be our quest

Do you mean scoring in the post or simply a guy that can play in the middle defensively while scoring in any way at the other end?

I feel like the idea of Jesse Edwards is pretty much the ideal C nowadays; I'm very skeptical that he'll become a good player for us, but in terms of playing style, he is it IMO.

Well, one could make a legit argument that it has been our quest, but have struck out on the trail for the past 3 recruiting cycles at the 5 spot post missing out on Thomas Bryant. So, 4 cycles if you count that. The fact that we are so ridiculously weak at the 5, and have been now since Christmas' graduation, and still unable to land ANY of those much higher rated 5 guys we went after is truly remarkable & really speaks volumes IMO. Although, I read on the recruiting board how John Bol Ajak was our TOP priority 5 recruit last year, so we got that going for us. With such amazing talent at the 5 spot on the roster, of course, this top priority recruit had no choice but to redshirt.

I think it makes people play tight. Which, can make them less fluid and appear slower than they actually are. They are mostly frosh and sophs, so they aren't really muscled up yet.
Marek, Sid, Buddy, Eli are all Juniors or Seniors age wise. Eli is the only one remotely athletic or strong enough to compete at a high level.

The team has very little talent and athleticism and it shows during every game. We can’t even compete in the paint or athletically on the perimeter.

last week's take: going 3-2 in this stretch would be a solid ncaa tournament resume building run

this week's take: they lost one game! they have no talent, the coaching is worse, nit is the ceiling!
eh it's how we lost and to whom - okie st is the worst of the teams we'll be playing in this stretch and they had their way with us - but yeah, we'll see how things stand in about a week

Yeah I think Ok St will be better than people think. We got hung up on 12-20 but they did return a lot and players do improve.
could be - I'd bet that they won't come close to 86 against any other p5 teams they play

So, they're bad at offense and we gave up 86 to a bad offensive team - which would appear to not bode well for our team.
our team will fare how it fares. whether the cowboys ever score 86 again will have no impact on that either way.
