There's no other team (except for maybe Duke) that gives me an adrenaline rush like beating UConn. I would love an annual game with them at MSG sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It would be like a basketball version of Oklahoma/Texas with a half-and-half Garden (or 60/40 Cuse).

uconn and all that. But you have to respect what coach Ollie has done taking over their program. I would like to see us play them at least every other year. Maybe alternate a MSG game between St.Johns and UConn.

Every year with the Hoya lovers would be great too.

We should play them every year at MSG. At least until St john's is respectful again. At this point, all we get is a win playing the Johnnies.

My dream is to turn it into our Red River Rivalry. Divide the arena in half and just let it go. Would be a great atmosphere.

Not a bad idea, one side orange the other side blue. Would still look like orange fans though.

They have a very good team. Surprised Ollie kept Brimah on the bench towards the end. Daniel Hamilton is the real deal.

GREAT win. It is SO nice to see this style of play. The kind of style which usually gives us trouble. Four good shooters on the floor with good ball movement. Very similar to some of those VCU/Duke/Nova/Creighton teams in the recent past.

Obviously Lydon and G were awesome. The only issue I see with this team is the depth. Some other players need to emerge. Boeheim won't be able to ride 6 guys for very long in all of these tougher games moving forward. I know he wants those W's and the right guys probably did play but, still. LGO!

I thought Ollie made two huge coaching errors.

Keeping their big guy on the bench late when it was obvious we were spreading them out and attack the rim.

And for the love of God how do you not foul down three and extend the game when we were struggling from the line? Terrible mistake. What's the best case scenario not fouling?? Getting the ball with 5 secs left down three?

Thank you coach.

No doubt Jake. What was he thinking there not fouling? Couldn't believe that, but thank you very much.

Dwight Casey (Raps coach) did the same thing a few years ago. Except there was only 2 second difference, The message board was going nuts.

Technically, they're ahead by 3 titles.

Well, two of those had the easiest road to the trophy in recent memory. All the big seeds fell like dominoes. Meanwhile...the NCAA decided we shouldn't beat Ohio State because of the Bernie mess. They wanted none of that dirtying up their Final Four festivities.

I take nothing away from UConn, but I really don't give a crap that they have 4 titles. Good for them. Have fun in the AAC. This was their highlight game of the season.

It was just such a bizarre ending. I was expecting a gut wrenching finish with us inevitably missing free throws and then boom the game was over.

"I take nothing away from UConn... except for two of their titles." :)

He couldn't put Brimah back in. The match-ups were not in his favor. Anyone we had on Brimah would have exploited him. If Brimah had to guard Lydon, Lydon would have taken him outside away from the basket. Plus, the minute Brimah goes back in, JB would have attacked the basket even harder for that 5th foul. UConn needed shooters on the floor. Our versatility, and foul trouble, basically forced Ollie's hand.

If I were the UConn fans, I'd be directing my venomous rage at Ollie and not the players. They played well. SU just played better and made more plays.

Well, I could add two or three to our case. Lucky Keith Smart shot in 87. We played an NBA farm team in 1996...we beat anyone else, oh and AO's bum leg. ;)

And those two titles will be taken from the Tarheels. No way both of those titles stand, not with McCants involved in one of them. :)

Especially when there is no way SU does not foul up 3 with less than 5 seconds so they never get up a 3 anyway.

Its OK to admit that beating UConn is still a very exciting thing. All those Cuse fans in the Bahamas going insane on TV would probably agree.

I know I'm being a jerk.

Seriously though it is all downhill from here for their season. We have a lot to look forward to.

So... in other words, we're in a much better spot than uconn is?

Agreed.
