Last year at this time, many were perdicting that the 2012-13 SU team woild be better and would make the FF. I always reserve my opinions, wanting to take a wait and see attitude until the data is in. As the season unfolded, many of my fears came to life. Now I must admit I was wrong. I still think that this years team is not as good as last years, but they did make the FF. They don't have the team many were perdicting, a strong almost dominant center. A good 3 guard rotation and reliable 3 pt shooting. They have done it by hustle and hard work. And good coaching. You can't come back from a 5-7 finish, scoring 39 points and end up in the FF with the most dominate defense there with any and all of those things. So I was wrong. I'm glad that I was because this team CAN win it all. If they play the defense that played the last 2 games, they can.

I'm also on the "I was wrong" boat. I didn't think we could shoot well enough to get this far. Granted, we actually still HAVEN'T shot that well, but we've done EVERYTHING else extraordinarily well.

i wonder if they're expending so much energy on defense that the offense has to take a hit (and that's ok)

every guy is covering so much ground so fast, it's like they're always double teaming the guy with the ball.

For the record: BET: fg=88/186 = 44.9% 3pfg = 37/74 = 50% FT= 43/74 = 48.1%

NCAA: FG = 89/200 = 43.2 3pfg= 18/60 = 30% FT = 61/89 = 68.5%

All tourny games: FG= 177/402 = 44.0% 3pfg= 55/134 = 41.0% FT= 104/163 = 63.8%

JB claims just the opposite, that better shooting has improved the defense. I guess it's like make making a shot puts extra spring in your step.
