That is special and so personal. Just name it ‘pride and joy’.
This picture was taken by Obie 9 ... right after we beat West Virginia in March. Virtually all the other pix in this thread were taken by professional photographers. Obie was sitting near me when he took this pictur. It was later shared with the Boeheim family .. where it is one of Juli's treasures.
That was my first avatar.
Just noticed Mike and Donna were right there
Still waiting on someone to post a replay of this game.
I was at that game. A guy seated near me left after a few mins, saying "I can't watch this." The whole both teams wearing white in the beginning of the game was a bit much for him. It was amateur hour, but that following season...
That Indiana Sweet 16 game was just surreal. I kept waiting for Indiana to make their run, but it just never came. That was one of the best teams that we have beat in the tourney in recent memory.
Best pair of bigs we ever had (in my opinion).View attachment 202868
That loss hurts me more than the championship game in 87. I know it shouldn't, but man, that game was not officiated fairly.I love this picture. It was on page one of the Washington Post sports section the day after the game. I was at the game ... in Worcester, MA, against UMass in the second round of NCAA tourney in 1992. It was literally a home game for UMAss... very unfair scheduling. Mike was mugged by a UMass thug.
That game and the Ohio St NCAA loss were standouts for officiating that I recall. The Elite 8 loss by 7 to Ohio St had Waiters fouling out in 20 minutes and Southerland fouling out in 11 minutes plus CJ, Rakeem (limited to 16 minutes) and Baye (in 24 minutes) both with 4 fouls. The biggest joke was ‘hands’ Aaron Craft being the only Ohio St player who fouled out but in the 39th minute just before the buzzer sounded. Ohio State had an amazing 42 free throws in the game to our 25. The horrible and lopsided Officiating upsets me thinking about it still to this day. That loss hurts me more than the championship game in 87. He took so many hits and had so many hard falls being fearless probably affected his longevity.
