I think #23 on Providence is Steve Wright, a forward who played high school ball locally in Syracuse - maybe Fowler, but went to Providence. DC makes him look small and he wasn’t.

I believe Steve Wright is the guy blocking out Rony. The photo also includes Rick Pitino and behind him, in the red tie, Jeff Van Gundy, who was an assistant on that team. And Billy Donovan, who would lead Florida to two NCs and still coaches in the NBA, is in the foreground.

Quite a bit of basketball history in this one picture.
