If anyone doubts Fran was the right hire

Collins seems more like an athlete that needs time to develop. Interesting that he committed to Brohm, who needs a QB next year. Also interesting that A&M didn't offer but he camped there? ERob should have incite to that. Looks like he has 3 years left.

The kid I was thinking of has 4 years and is more of a passer like McCord. If Rashada is UGA's next QB then Puglisi is stuck behind him. Even if he sticks around he could still be recruited over. Fran should know if Puglisi is any good from his buddy Kirby. Would seem like a better fit IMO.

Interesting! His HS tape is great+
Need to take it with a grain of salt. Any 4-star recruit will have a nice tape.

He said he isn't going to the portal, he's going heavy HS. So do we take him at his word?
You don’t think he’s going to use the portal to his advantage as best he can?

Have to be honest the chicken little posts after we lost to Pitt and BC were quite annoying and made the board unreadable.

I do think there’s a (small) segment of fans that are a bit annoyed we won by throwing more than ever and it does not fit their idea of winning football.

This might just be the high of last night talking, but I am starting to look at next year‘s schedule as more of an opportunity. I think we’re going to shock some teams next year.
I am an optimist but when your road schedule consists of five teams currently in the top 18, three of which will definitely be in the playoffs this year and maybe a 4th, that is brutal. Georgia Tech is our, ahem, easiest road game. Gotta go 6-0 at home which is very feasible and then steal a road game. Unless all of those road teams turn into 2024 FSU, which would be nice ;)

Here’s hoping Miami reverts into its shell without Ward. Possibly a much more winnable game than it seems at this point.

There were a lot of people on this thread dogging coach Fran and calling for his head. Syracuse fans are ridiculous at times..no patience and clueless. Fran Brown , from the moment he was hired, has done everything that he said that he would . If you can't see the program is on the rise,. I don't know what you are looking for. Great Season by all measures. so happy for the players, the coaching staff, and the Alumni!

Really? This thread just commenced on Saturday, however, thread and head has a nice rhyme to it, so you certainly achieved your sensational, et al intent. Interesting, especially after such a great/historic win...good for you.

I don't recall there were "a lot of people" calling for Fran's head. That's simply a bunch of malarkey you're spewing, which isn't any different than than those few/handful of folks that were "calling for his head," although, those particular posts were likely purely emotional, in the moment type, similar to game thread type remarks.

I recall Fran getting heat (and rightfully so) for some coaching issues observed, like all of the earlier Special Teams blunders, etc., the Stanford debacle, and the BC loss, where we allowed a one dimension run offense continually run it down our throats, but I don't recall "a lot" calling for Coach Fran's head. The Pitt game was simply an outlier type affair with all of those pick sixes and look what I found type turnovers, etc. Again, I don't recall "a lot" calling for his head. And, with a first time ever head coach, we all knew there would be growing pains, errors in coaching, etc. as part of the deal. Fran himself stated after the BC game that he got his arse out coached by O'Brien. Don't equate constructive criticisms, etc. of a greenhorn coach as "calling for his head" as that is simply unreasonable and shouldn't have been taken seriously anyways.

I'd challenge you to put your money where your mouth is and provide proof of all of these posters ("a lot" as you alluded) whom legitimately were "calling for his head."

Are Syracuse fans "ridiculous?" Maybe, however, certainly not any more (probably far less) than any program that actually gives a chit about its program. Moreover, these "ridiculous" fans you mention perhaps should be better labeled "insane" for sticking with a program that has been putrid in the larger scope for such an extended period of time.

It appears Fran has the program clearly headed in the right direction...finally! Looking forward to seeing the actual reality of words his predecessor spewed..."consistently good and occasionally great!" Time will tell.

Go Orange!

Suck it. I mean really suck it. Greatest thing to happen to SU football in 35 years.
FoIIowing SU since 1958 I've Iearned it's a year by year thing. Fran can definiteIy coach. A Top 25 was beyond my hopes. Then we had the injury bug. Fran stiII did it and McCord. Fran's did an awesome job, and awesome is the word.

Best part of Fran Brown and his success he has had so far is that he isn’t satisfied. I hope he keeps his moxy and his personality. With Babers it felt like he came in and was all personality and awesome guy and then toward the end he was lame, boring, and not relatable.

Fran being younger, more eager, a recruiting savant and not having been successful at being a HC is hopefully the requisite to keeping him in this job and successful.

Also, if anyone thinks that the NIL deals are done, you are wrong. We as fans, alumni, diehards, and anyone else with a pulse to Cuse football need to continue to give whatever we are comfortable with to give Fran the competitive advantage he needs. I myself finally gave $1,000 in January and have never been happier with my investment.

As Yogi Berra once said..."if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying ". And is there ever tampering with coaches, families, trainers, friends on teams, etc? To me you hunt in this version of college.
That all said, I am not sure it's a fact that's being shared in the burner account. I agree with you in thinking that is a false tweet.

Yogi Berra did NOT once say that.

It was Abraham Lincoln. :p

Ah yes, Lincoln's second most famous quote behind "if you are a racist I will attack you with the north."

A lot of people run hot after losses and post aggressively. It's human nature. Same type of people were ranting at the water cooler on Mondays a generation ago.

Personally, I find the "nyah nyah, I was right all along, suck it haters" posts to be as insufferable as the negative posts after losses. Such a strange psychological need proclaim oneself to be smarter than the masses. Insecurity is a helluva emotion, I guess.

What I learned this season about Coach Fran, is that he practices what he preaches. He and his staff made some mistakes, ans sometimes those led directly to a loss. Like keeping Fadil at MLB one game too long, or single coverage on their best wideout, etc.
But he instills the work ethic into his players and lives DART himself. Im sure he demands it of his coaches, too.
Hell stay with the 'Cuse.
