There were a lot of people on this thread dogging coach Fran and calling for his head. Syracuse fans are ridiculous at times..no patience and clueless. Fran Brown , from the moment he was hired, has done everything that he said that he would . If you can't see the program is on the rise,. I don't know what you are looking for. Great Season by all measures. so happy for the players, the coaching staff, and the Alumni!
Really? This thread just commenced on Saturday, however,
thread and
head has a nice rhyme to it, so you certainly achieved your sensational, et al intent. Interesting, especially after such a great/historic win...good for you.
I don't recall there were
"a lot of people" calling for Fran's head. That's simply a bunch of malarkey you're spewing, which isn't any different than than those few/handful of folks that were
"calling for his head," although, those particular posts were likely purely emotional, in the moment type, similar to game thread type remarks.
I recall Fran getting heat (and rightfully so) for some coaching issues observed, like all of the earlier Special Teams blunders, etc., the Stanford debacle, and the BC loss, where we allowed a one dimension run offense continually run it down our throats, but I don't recall "a lot" calling for Coach Fran's head. The Pitt game was simply an outlier type affair with all of those pick sixes and
look what I found type turnovers, etc. Again, I don't recall "a lot" calling for his head. And, with a first time ever head coach, we all knew there would be growing pains, errors in coaching, etc. as part of the deal. Fran himself stated after the BC game that he got his arse out coached by O'Brien. Don't equate constructive criticisms, etc. of a greenhorn coach as
"calling for his head" as that is simply unreasonable and shouldn't have been taken seriously anyways.
I'd challenge you to put your money where your mouth is and provide proof of all of these posters ("a lot" as you alluded) whom legitimately were
"calling for his head."
Are Syracuse fans "ridiculous?" Maybe, however, certainly not any more (probably far less) than any program that actually gives a chit about its program. Moreover, these "ridiculous" fans you mention perhaps should be better labeled "insane" for sticking with a program that has been putrid in the larger scope for such an extended period of time.
It appears Fran has the program clearly headed in the right direction...finally! Looking forward to seeing the actual reality of words his predecessor spewed...
"consistently good and occasionally great!" Time will tell.
Go Orange!
