can give us 20-25 quality minutes a game and hold down the defensive boards without all the dumb fouls, dare i say it, we are a top 10 team.

Even if he does that were not a top 10 team.

Freshmen will mature, roberson's only scratching the surface of his potential and our guards are clicking on a level we havent seen in a long time. Just watch, ill eat crow need be.

One thing I know for sure. Barring injury, he is only going to get better. Just like Lydon.
I think the most underrated part of this team is richardson's aggressiveness. If he learns from iq's like gbinije and makes some better decisions, that kid could be lightning

Young lady is something else.

Because we beat Uconn by 3 and cupcakes by about 10 each were a top 10 team?

Your resort to personal attacks is comical but the fact we're pretty much at a 6 man rotation isn't going to help. Ucrap is a pretty solid team and it's a great win, but it doesn't mask the issues this team has.

Another underrated fact about this game, we beat a top guard duo which over the past decade even our best teams have had trouble doing. We not only beat hamilton and gibbs, at time gbinije made them look silly. Drove on hamilton with ease.

And we'll continue to do well against guard oriented teams without question, we have two great guards up top. It's the teams with big talented front lines that are going to give us issues.

Thus why the only thing, outside of maturity, that i see really holding us back is size down under which coleman (if he fine tunes his game and minimizes he errors) can provide us. Trust me im glad we're not going against meeks and unc tomorrow

The point is there is a lot of upside here. Coleman can and should continue to improve. Either Joseph or Howard can develop into a solid third guard. Chino can potentially contribute in spots. The other five are solid and are each capable of carrying the team on a given night. Sure, the margin for error is thin and continued good health will be critical, and some of the match ups ahead are daunting, but this will be a fun ride.

Hamilton and Gibbs are not Boatright and Napier.

I understand the hesitation of getting excited about this group. With that said coleman continues to get better vs crawling into a shell. He made some great hustle plays and was a man on the boards. The offense is coming along as he made some nice cuts as well. The significance of this team looking to run is huge as it will force teams to decide whether to crash the boards or to defend in transition.

Lydon on defense is so fundamentally sound he reminds me of a polished Euroleague guy. He played as well as any1 we could have at the 5 blocking shots, standing his ground and grabbing rebounds.

The ceiling for this team will mainly depend on being able to get more bench minutes. Kaleb is still struggling at times but playing better defense and moving the ball more than he had previously. Howard definitely has shown he can contribute even if its just a couple assists and boards. Offensively this team can compete witb anyone. Defensively you can see improvement. If coleman and the team chemistry continues to grow and gbinije continues to own the leader role this team absolutely has top 10 potential. Ive seen both duke and uk and while for sure they are good squads they arent scaring anyone. If we dont continue to get better well then the ceiling is lowered. 5 games in if you cant see the growth you are clearly turning a blind eye to optimism. Caution is the right approach given we are relying on youth a lot but the last time two freshman had this big of an impact early on and looked this good things turned out pretty good...

That was a pretty good front line we went against today. Lydon and Roberson dominated the glass today in the second half against a pretty big team.
Yeah that was a very high quality front line . I think they'd give unc fits up front.

Totally agree with you, if all of that we're to happen then I see awesome regular season success. Even if we're not a top 10 or top 20 team doesn't mean it won't be a fun season or cause doom in the tournament. This team is built fine for the tournament as they can get really hot for a couple of weeks. The regular season is a totally different story.

Yup. And at the end of the game, it was OUR frontcourt guys dominating [Roberson / Lydon].

I said that my dream scenario was for Roberson to get consistent and give us ~14 and 9. He really, really seems to be getting comfortable out there.

Lydon is exponentially further advanced than anybody could have hoped. A true difference maker who is ALSO a stud rebounder / shot blocker.

And if Coleman is now starting to get comfortable...

Don't get me wrong, I don't think DC is ever going to be a big scorer. But he's starting to rebound better, blocking shots, scoring a bit. These last two games suggest that he's beginning to round into form a bit. If he can give us 5/6 rebounds per game, I like how our frontcourt is shaping up.

The next thing that needs to happen for this team to make a run would be for either Joseph or Howard to emerge as that third guard. Has to happen for this team to actualize it's potential.

Let's Go Orange!!!

Coleman gets my nod for one of the MVPs of this game. When he's on the bench, he's the best cheerleader and he does the same when one of his teammates makes a great play. I want him to improve as the season progresses, mostly because he seems like such a good teammate.

And we're going to give those big front lines fits at the other end.
