if Lester being gone isn't one of the demands, just swapping OL and a DB coach prob isn't enough of a change to really matter (unless those new guys can really coach the kids up a hell of a lot)

This board has been full of anti Shafer for 2 months now. Just because we played Clemson tough, doesn't mean you should change your opinion. Your opinion should never be based on 1 game anyway.

I have been pro shafer all year. The Ville game pushed me closer the the dark side but I'm firmly in the keep shafer camp. I know where you stand but I'm going with the young team excuse and I hope coyle sees it. Yes he's made some bone head coaching calls during games but those things come with experience and I'll give him a pass till midway through next year. I'm really sick of the constant coach changes we have had to go through since p. Grob got the extra year so should shafer.

the players should have about 10% say. Enough to voice an opinion, but not to sway a previous 1 sided opinion.

unfortunately, we don't really have a true fan base to have a real voice. so when 36k come to watch the #1 team in the country - its a condemnation of the last 15 years, not really the current coach. And we don't have a huge donor that I know of (like Oregon, okla st, mary) to make a huge difference.

Tickets, attendance, fan-base buzz, shouldn't factor into this decision, period.

Does the change make the program better, you don't make a change to feed the beast of fan opinion, that's just stupid.

I am totally torn right now. On one hand the quotes I remember from Bill Parcells echoes through my head "you are what you are", "This is a results driven business". On the other hand I like Shafer, I like the team, and I just don't think three years is enough. I want a winner or at least a competitive team, but I am not sure how to go about it. Three head coaches since p and I lost count of the Ocs has to be over 7. That's a ton of turnover and instability.
