Our assistant coaches are some of the best recruiters in the country. Hopkins is a machine. Could it hurt us, yes...will it, who knows.

Obviously, nobody is poo-pooing child molestation. I'm not sure there is a more heinous, vile crime on the planet and I hope Bernie rots in jail if they were underage.

I would stand up for somebody I knew that long as well if I didn't know what was going on and I do believe that JB was bamboozled and is probably very pissed off right now!! Precisely, this was my point...look, child molestation is deplorable, but it existed before me, and it will exist after me...my concern is how it affects my one true passion in life, SU Bball. If the program is impacted negatively in such a way that we become Rutgers, then I will devastated as a result.

I do too, but that was when he was taking a program over that was rolling. I'm not sure Calipari could convince recruits to come here after an assistant was (allegedly) molesting ball boys. The media will keep this in the forefront for a long time. And while at this point it doesn't seem as bad as PSU, every time PSU gets brought up by the media for the next few years, SU will be mentioned right behind them

You already saw it with Whitehead last week. That was just the beginning. We will be bad for 5-10 years plus as a result of this.

they can't get out of their LOI's. The LOI is to SU, not to Jim Boeheim.

This ^^^^^^^^^^. Although JB's & SU's next statement will be of monumental importance. When those statements are made, and they shouldn't be made until after investigation is completed, they have to fully deal with the established facts and in a way that openly and honestly deal with those facts & their implications.

Assuming there was no "blind eyes" on the part of JB or SU, we'll be fine. People get that bad people do bad things and it's not an institution's fault (be it a church, school, police agency, or other business). What they won't get is a coverup or excuse making. If we learned nothing else post-Watergate it's that the coverup can be more damaging then the crime.

Right, but that just makes him look stupid. "thousand lies", how could you have no clue about this if you truly were close "loyal" friends for 50 years, etc. JB might get egg on his face for his vehement remarks, but that in no way translates into knowledge by him or the University. And those things are all that truly matter for the long term life of the program.
