I'm in a show hole, need suggestions

Anyone watching The Studio (AppleTV)?

I was only half looking forward to it. I like Seth Rogen, and i'm a wannabe writer, so it's something i should be interested in, but there was another recent 'Hollywood' series that really turned me off. This one is supposed to be a comedy, as well, but i didn't find any of it to be fun, funny, or some sort of 'caustic perspective on the absurdities of Hollywood.' That's what is intended, but... i got nothing out of episode one, other than that they're already overrelying on cameos.

They also do that long, one-take shot thing like Adolescence, but not for the entire episode. In fact, it was quite bizarre to me that they began that way, and then just stopped and had what looked like a completely unnecessary cut. Almost as if they got tired of doing long takes, screwed up and said, that's it—abandon the theme. Then i think there were more long take shots, mixed with cuts. Kinda perplexing. And they didn't do them as well as Adolescence. I kept yelling at them to 'pull focus!'

Oh, well. Will try one more episode before i give up.

What's this on?

Dah, dang it.

I cannot add another streamer. We have YouTubeTV, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and Amazon Prime.

It's friggin' insanity.
I hear you. I feel the same. I canceled Disney a while back. I’ll reinstate when Andor comes back with season 2, but right now, I wouldn’t be watching anything there.

Severance. If you aren’t watching this… I don’t think we can be friends. So good. Probably better this season than last. Such beautiful writing and production. It’s great just to watch it, but then if you watch the in-depth breakdown and theories videos all over YouTube, it makes the show 10x better. There’s soooo much in each episode, the depth and detail are astounding.

Recently started watching. I'll admit, episodes 1 and 2 (ish) of Season 1 had me thinking I'm not sure this is for me. But I've been down that road with shows before and later you realize the setup was what you needed. Pretty amazing show. Anyone finding themselves at that point, keep watching.

I'm on season 2, early into episode 4, which I'd probably say feels like their Pine Barrons. Anytime I see cold, snow and wandering around in the woods.

If you want to increase your appreciation of the show—exponentially—watch the recap/breakdown shows on YouTube. New Rockstars is the series I like, but there are others. It is soooo deep. So many details, references, inferences, implications, theories…. It’s amazing just that it is all conceived, bit then that it’s executed and produced and it’s all so perfectly integrated.

Watched the first 2 episodes of Dope Theif on Amazon, it has potential. Its basically how it sounds, couple of guys pretend to be DEA agents and rob drug dealers and things get interesting. Wont say more for those who wish to give it a watch, not bad so far

The Residence, new on Netflix. It's not for everyone, but we've watched the first two episodes so far. Will watch episode 3 tonight.
Finished the 1st season of The Residence, eight episodes. The main character is a quirky detective, like Monk or Colombo, and she is played by Uzo Aduba, who was the 1st person to win Emmy's for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama role and in a Comedy, playing the same character to win the different categories for the same role and same show playing Crazy Eyes in Orange Is The New Black.

The show is a great whodunnit.

Is that the one about the White House?
