Next year SU needs to setup a neutral site game at the Verizon Center against Maryland or VCU to show them how a stadium can be sold out. (Unless Gtown doesn't sign the deal to play in a series).

I'm on business in DC and we're at Georgetown Marquette game. There aren't more than 1,500 people here at the Verizon center. Unbelievable.

Late arriving crowd has filled in a tad more now. A tad. 2nd and 3rd levels are still completely empty. I've got a friend on the complete other side of the arena. I'm gonna try and yell for him and see if he can yell back

Between the constant commercials hawking tickets... daily tweets from MSG about seats still available... weekly emails from Georgetown (I'm still on their mailing list as a "donor")... etc.. etc... it's possible MSG will be available this year as the Big East decides to relocate to Carnesecca Arena or perhaps Fordham's 3200-seat Rose Hill Gym.

The demise of the Big East has killed interest in Northeast college hoops (save for SU, Pitt and few other schools). Sad.

Saw that there were 14K at the Nova-Creighton game tonight. So I think this is more an indictment of the awfulness of G'town fans than a broader statement about the state of northeast hoops.

BTW, official box in the Post today claims 9,014 were there. Clearly everyone with a shadow counted twice.

Repeating: do NOT want to play these tools home and home, so they can sell out their building with our fans. Play Maryland out of conference or George Mason for local recruiting (I'm sure Franklin Howard would love to have a game in his back yard in Fairfax, Va). Let's have Gtown end up where we found them before the BE.
