No guarantee Melo will play another game. Lots of players and coaches in the past have had their careers cut short, including several Gophers. It's not fair or unfair, its just reality.
And yes, we know that careers get cut short. Some folks who have played at Syracuse have had their careers cut short thanks to injury. Billy Owens comes to mind.
Oh, and since you love throwing out random, meaningless numbers...22 Syracuse alums have scored at least 1,000 points in the NBA, and only 21 Minnesota players have. Oh my god, we're the winners!
EDIT: Actually, looks like it's 22 for both. Though Michael Carter-Williams will be breaking that tie very soon, so I guess we still win, right? Because clearly these are the only indicators of the quality of a program.
