Is achieving the #1 attendance mark for 2012 still possible?

Nope, we did it for Gerry against ND, and then we did it two more years in a row with Villanova.

Niether of those games were Senior Days.

UK attendance at their final game on Thursday was 24,382. Amazing for a weeknight. Their capacity is listed at 23,000 so they overstuffed the place. We would have to have a new record today to even have a chance of edging them.

The 2006 Villanova game was Senior Day. 2010 wasn't; that was three nights later against St. John's.

As an aside, I never knew how many people come to the Dome early. Just glanced out the window of the law library and there's a massive crowd outside all the third-level gates (I guess waiting for 90 minutes before tip?). Hope it's a good one today.

I didn't think that the 2006 Nova game was a record breaking crowd. I thought the record nights went Rutgers '03, ND Sat Nite the year Gameday Came (wasn't that 05?), and the Nova game in 2010.

Notre Dame in 2005 was 33,199; Villanova got 33,633 the next year. Villanova in 2010 was next.

SFD told SU to cut off ticket sales at 34,616.

I wonder if the SFD holds them to that number for football games too.
