No. Lots of positives to take from this game. Take away a few goofy "unforced" penalties, and we'd have won.

FWIW, coming back to the Dome at 5-1 and ranked in the Top 20 will still feel good. We just don't quite have the talent and depth yet to finish these types of games.

Crushed. What could have been. Some what expected to be close, but when Lawrence went down I thought we had this. Started getting crazy thoughts. Coming back to the Dome 6-0 and in the playoff picture. 3 different plays could have changed the outcome. Mostly, i am so damn proud of this program and the way that they know they belong and act like they. It's an amazing culture change in such a short period of time. This was no fluke. We are here to stay.

We had it. Two 4th down plays go against us and that's the whole game.

Thats not the whole game. The O was waaaay too conservative in the second half. We didn't adjust with play calling, and it killed us. Given a 9 pt lead at half, their 3rd string true frosh qb coming in and the fact we had 3 big TOs in our favor; we didn't get it done and the biggest factor was playimg scared and protecting a 9 pt lead.

The offensive play calling was brutal. The rpos were slow and non aggressive as gius took the ball into the line. Threw one pass over 20 yards, nothing over the middle. Just not aggressive. DINO was taken to the woodshed in the second half and his offense, not the D was the problem here. Not the D.

I agree, we have talent and depth now, more than we've had in many years. My point was we can't match a top 5 program in those areas. We're going to need to make the gap narrow enough to make the things we do well the difference in the game, and we almost did today.

Don't be too upset. Clemson has much better defense. They totally shut our offense down in the 2nd half. This is the proper outcome. We should have lost by 11 if not the 7 points by our special team in the 2nd half.

I dont know about crushed. It was pretty obvious what was going to happen about midway through the third quarter. they were gashing us with huge chunks on run plays when we knew they were going to run.
