Are we offering a lot more players early this year?

I think more offers are just getting out into the media. Think Marrone really kept those under wraps

Have a good feeling that this will be one of the best recruiting years on the hill in a long time.

Yeah, I won't go into my long-winded arguments about how very few, if any really know how recruiting is going, but my guess is that this staff's concerted effort to engage with the media and fans also leads to info being a bit more readily available. It will be very interesting going from DM, who I think literally spent sleepless nights ambling around his room devising some way to destroy twitter to an HC/staff that seem intent on actively engaging with media and at least trying to use social media to their benefit. I'm not really judging either policy as much as noting that you couldn't really get more polar opposite viewpoints.

I'm comfortable judging it.

Marrone's policy sucked. "Cool Kid" McDonald gets it.

Ha! Well, I would judge it the same way I just didn't feel like the thread devolving into a former staff vs. current staff argument. But, I agree, I think embracing it is the way to go.

We seem to have offered a lot more high end kids which we will see if we can get any. I just hope we don't miss on any Syracuse guys. Kids that maybe need a year or two to develop while we chase bigger fish. The balance is hard, bring up to the promised land Coach Mcdonald

Would like to see them use the sites to their advantage. The more info leaked will generate more buzz.

I'm not going to beat up on the former staff.

I am ok beating up on Marrone though.

LOL...I guess I missed that part of the thread.

You're use of the name is far more flattering than the clown that coined it.
Look, it's no Thickburger, but Orijinal came up with a great nickname. I hope it catches on.

I hope your right.

But, I am extremely worried with how accessible Coach McDonald has made himself. I mean, if the offense comes out and struggles early, he is going to get torn to shreds on Twitter by unintelligent fans.

Remember all the crap about Hackett that was spewed on the board by intelligent fans? McDonald will be open to absolutely everyone.

But, hope the offense puts up 40 every time out and we won't have to find out.

Eh. Then he's open to everyone.

I think he's actually buying himself some slack by being so open. It's harder to be mad at a person you don't know very well. Easier to unload on a stranger. He's not as much of a stranger.

Not hard to shut down your Twitter account as well.

If the trolls come out of the woodwork, I fully expect him and Shafer to act just like this guy:

Hackett deserved a lot of criticism a lot of the time. Him making a 180 2 weeks before last season doesn't change the fact that our offense sucked for years before that.

Hackett won the what have you done for me lately game... But his career as offensive coordinator is vastly overrated because our offense was so good the last 6 or 7 games last year.

Wasn't saying Hackett did or didn't deserve it. Just pointing out that if he was on Twitter, he would have gotten a ton of criticism from that avenue with how frustrated fans were.
