I don't know if you guys noticed, but when Hunt was still our QB the opposing defenses stacked the box to stop the run and dared Hunt to beat them through the air. This is why it seems that Hunt 'regressed' this year versus last year - the opposing defenses took away the runs (QB/RB), and forget about the bubble screens, Hunt was very poor at executing these and missed throws to open backs/receivers.
My recollection of why Hunt did so well last year was that the opposing defenses didn't focus on taking away the run and with Hunt's ability to run it opened things up for us. This year, the opposing defenses focused on stopping Hunt's running ability as he has not shown the ability to throw it down field, or even complete swing passes to open backs/receivers, and our offense became stagnant.
Just my recollection on Hunt. He definitely has the most experience but he needs to be more accurate with his throws, which he has shown he can do. Between all the QB's, at least Long was able to connect down the field to West - and he did this several times which shows me that it wasn't a fluke and that he has some touch on the long balls. Wilson I haven't really seen much from, despite everyone saying he's got the best arm. And Kimble - have no idea yet.
The off-season will be interesting, especially is Alin makes it back. I hope Lester has a good strategy to utilize our personal and put in an offensive package that THIS team can execute well.
