Is It Settled?

its debatable which qb had tougher stretch between hunt and aj . Its really a coin flip Clemson tougher than Louisville because of death valley effect while nd was tougher than fsu

Like it's so much fun watching Hunt throw 10 yard passes 6 feet over the head of open receivers. Teams that have no passing game don't win much.
I know what you mean, but it' fun watching Long turn the ball over almost every time he's sacked, too. Gimme Hunt's ability to create over Long's ability to take a sack "full of potential!"

I do not see how anyone could be excited about having Hunt as our QB. If it is even a close question to with Hunt or Long you go with the young guy. At least if Hunt starts Hunt/Shafer and Lester will all be going out after the end of next season.

I don't know if you guys noticed, but when Hunt was still our QB the opposing defenses stacked the box to stop the run and dared Hunt to beat them through the air. This is why it seems that Hunt 'regressed' this year versus last year - the opposing defenses took away the runs (QB/RB), and forget about the bubble screens, Hunt was very poor at executing these and missed throws to open backs/receivers.

My recollection of why Hunt did so well last year was that the opposing defenses didn't focus on taking away the run and with Hunt's ability to run it opened things up for us. This year, the opposing defenses focused on stopping Hunt's running ability as he has not shown the ability to throw it down field, or even complete swing passes to open backs/receivers, and our offense became stagnant.

Just my recollection on Hunt. He definitely has the most experience but he needs to be more accurate with his throws, which he has shown he can do. Between all the QB's, at least Long was able to connect down the field to West - and he did this several times which shows me that it wasn't a fluke and that he has some touch on the long balls. Wilson I haven't really seen much from, despite everyone saying he's got the best arm. And Kimble - have no idea yet.

The off-season will be interesting, especially is Alin makes it back. I hope Lester has a good strategy to utilize our personal and put in an offensive package that THIS team can execute well.

hunt is t good and it's not odd who the best QB is. It's by far AJ Long. Hunt is extremely inaccurate in his 4th year in the program.
AJ may eventually be good, but right now he is not even close, lacks strength and size for playing at this level. He should have been red shirted and would have been except for the injuries.
You are simply overstating AJ's current ability level, but you are entitled to your opinion.

That's experience. Do you think Hunt as a true freshman would be much better? Young players make mistakes. He'll fix it.

Hunt had ND, Lville, MD... Long looked okay vs. FSU, who had nothing on him. Okay vs. WF. Terrible vs. Clemson and NCSU... It's hard to judge. I'll take Hunt looking mediocre vs. good competition against Long looking mediocre vs. worse competition AND having a seemingly competent OC.
IGNORE.

If you plug Kimble, Long or Wilson into the QB spot vs. ND... Can you imagine them keeping it within 2 scores?
That game was close because Notre Dame handed us the ball 5 times, not because of anything Hunt did?

Edouard? Seriously you guys. Stop annointing saviors of the program. Doesn't anyone ever learn anything? You're setting the kid up for failure stating he's already better than Wilson, Long, etc. It's such BS. You have no real reason to say this. None. What basis do you have for this? His tapes are against HS kids, he's never thrown a football with a Div1 DL coming at him. He's never had to read a D1 defense, or learn a Div1 playbook. And he still has to make grades.

Here's some other saviors......

Fields(helluva safety, not much of a QB)
Funderburke(in the where is he now category)
Arob(that career as a 4th string TE behind a walk-on QB was friggin EPIC!)

There's so many more but I think you get the point, as least I sure as heck hope you do.
