Is this a good sign for Football attendance?

I think there’ll be some impact on attendance, most likely minimal though.

I do think that being fully vaccinated will be necessary for most events, and eventually a number of businesses.

I’m probably in the vast minority here, but I don’t plan on getting vaccinated. At least not at this time. I will hold onto my ST’s and I won’t go if I’m not allowed.

I plan on getting vaccinated as soon as I get the call (I decided not to rush it and make up things so I could get one at a CVS 3 hours away even quicker like so many have done).

But do they give you a congrats you've been vaccinated sticker that you wear to these games as proof?

Vaccination card.
It seems like most places are giving out stickers, but you may need to ask.
The trick will be to remember to not use it before game time and then to try to preserve its stickiness for subsequent games.

If you don’t get a sticker you could probably use the official NY vaccine passport app.

I saw on the news this morning (Albany area) that to attend Bills or Sabres games you needed to use the Excelsior Pass App to prove you're vacinated. Be interesting to see if SU adopts this policy or will also accept the cards. At the recommendation of the folks that administered my vaccine, I copied, reduced and laminated my vaccination card to wallet size that I carry with me.

Don't tell this to the anti-mobile ticketing crowd.

Hopefully the app will take vaccination records from other states?

We're going to need a TSA pre-check line at each gate for games. Even at half attendance.

I understand the thought behind all this, but I can already feel the backlash coming. It's hard enough to get people to attend as it is right now.

I'll be fully vaccinated end of this month, so I'm good - but now I'm going to have to check with others in my group, 7 of us in total. The season tickets are in my name & I already footed the bill for them. Really hope no one tells me they aren't (and don't plan to be) vaccinated. I'd prefer not to have to say, sorry - but you still owe me whether or not you are able to attend.

I think this will be what everyone who hosts events with big crowds will end up doing.

If everyone at these events has been vaccinated, it might okay to not wear masks at all.

Further, if everyone at these events has been vaccinated, it might be okay to do away with social distancing rules completely and allow full capacity.

Losing 10% of ticket sales because some fans refuse to get vaccinated is nothing if it allows venues to go from 10-20% capacity to 100% capacity.

And it provides a strong incentive for those who are reluctant to get vaccinated to do so.

Syracuse is accepting cards already. It will be hard for SU to force people to use the Excelsior app if people from out of state cannot use it. SU gets a significant percentage of their crowd from out of state. Especially for football.

I separated our group into individual accounts years ago. I knew there would be a pandemic one day.

Actually, I just didn't want to pay and collect anymore.

Virginia opens to all adults on April 18. I'm already on the waiting list. If I'm not fully vaccinated by football season then something has gone terribly wrong.

But the other complication with this is booster shots. I don't keep up with this completely, but when are they needed, and how will they monitor that?

I hope all get vaccinated, I really do. But I think things get tricky trying to enforce it for things.

You should be aware that if you choose to laminate your card there is a place on the card to also list future vacinations and they will not be able to do it if you laminate it.

Can't they just issue you a new card, and transfer the info from the old card?

It'll suck when he has to get his shots all over again...LOL

I fully expect multiple boosters...are coming

Oh you didn't get my email

You are collecting money for the VTech tailgate and ticket buy.

the issue with masks will be what do they plan on doing with kids. its not a given kids will even be in the queue for shots by the fall. And we already know people are making fake documents up to make the whole process far from perfect.

You can also take a picture of the card and keep it in your phone. I’m not sure if this will be ok, but it’s the easiest way to keep it with you at all times.

And whales like me and Adam W. don't like issues at the gate.
No one likes an angry whale...

That's what I have done, if they don't accept that, I probably will stay home.
