Jackson Meeks to NFL Draft

I could not watch the Miami game live, family stuff on Thanksgiving weekend. I DVR'ed and just started watching. My jaw dropped when the broadcasters said Cuse led the NATION (!!!) in contested catches. Meeks was huge in this department. It seemed he owned every 50-50 ball. We have not had receivers like Pena, OG and Meeks since Sales and Lemon during the Marrone years. Amba, Tristan (sp?) Jackson and Jamal Custis were good too but the Pena/OG/Meeks trio was unbelievable.
Yup, Jackson ended up #1 in the country, Pena endup up #4 and OG ended up #7

(P4 only)

Speaking of the Cali Awards, when are they going to be officially presented? Trueblue25?
Combination of personal things keeping me busy (all good stuff) and how much basketballs detaching me from anything SU at the moment. Working on drafting it up today though, should be out sometime this upcoming week.

I‘m embracing all things football to distract me from hoops. So difficult because it used to be a massive part of my life. My dad and I did games together for 25 years. He made drive from Utica for every home game rain, sleet or snow didn’t matter. Then we’d both listen to post game our respective drives home. Always got a kick out of “bob from utica” calling in. I’m almost ashamed of my current apathy for hoops. So here I am commenting on a one year football player who I think could be a star at next level.

Our WR group barely had any contribution from Zeed and a relatively small amount from JRS and we still did what we did with our passing game. Amazing

Same here. I went as far as hiding the Basketball Forum on here. The games are not appointment tv for me anymore. I’ve already missed more games this year, or watched only half of some games this year than I think I ever have in all of my years of watching/listening. To put this in perspective, Dale Shackleford was my first favorite player.

I'm intrigued by the level of "quit" in SU basketball fans - especially being expressed on the Football Forum. We, of all fans, know the frustration of rooting for undermanned teams. The only thing that held us up was hope. And that hope in the 21st century was truly without evidence. Because, if there were evidence, it would no longer be hope.
I'm hoping that someday SU basketball will match SU football with the evidence of a winning program. And that's a funny thing to say.

I think Ross Douglas did a great job with the group this year. Lost Zeed early, inconsistent Hatcher, and then JRS hobbled most of the year.

Helped get Meeks and Pena banner seasons and positioned Gill for a huge junior year.

I think he's a really good coach and someone to watch grow on staff in a post-Nixon world.

Totally agree and recruits really seem to like him a lot
