Jacobian Morgan - He Who Was Promised

Text from Syracuse.com:

Dino Babers is tempering the postgame noise around freshman QB JaCobian Morgan, who led a touchdown drive late in Saturday's loss to Wake Forest: "I wouldn't put too much stock in that. That's like throwing 7-on-7. That's not a real football game." We'll have more from Babers on the QB position on syracuse.com later this afternoon.

Im just kidding.

but nice to see a touchdown drive and a freshman looking calm and deliberate in the pocket.

I suspect Rex starts next week with a shorter leash.

Good looking drive from the largely non-recruited kid from Mississippi.
Rex is a great story but he's good at finding the open linebackers ...this season is long gone...play the younger guys and get ready for what could be a good team next year with all these frosh getting experience

Yeah, because in a likely 1 win season, rather than take Morgan's play as a gift keeping the few fans sticking around engaged, we gotsta temper that enthusiasm.

Lol wow what a jerk thing to say by Dino
Yup, that was the first time I have ever heard Dino downplay a kid to try to protect himself.

Not really digging it. Whether he continues to coach here or not he has been paid a LOT of money by this University (I believe his updated contract was a 4 handle, brining him to the bottom of the top 25 coaches, even though this board seems to think it was a 3 handle) and he should be a bit more humble about his own mistakes.

Does it matter if it wasn't a "real" football game? Kind of mind-numbing to make that kind of reference at all. Better to say nothing than to downplay Morgan, especially since you were apparently surprised he didn't fumble the snap.

So basically the kid doesn’t know the offense yet.

Fair enough and explains a lot.

Still want to see him in there for multiple series’s every game, the way we used Nassib in his freshman year.

I call BS on this. You mean to tell me he doesn’t know the play where we hand the ball to the running back and he runs straight ahead? That’s like 75% of our offense and we run it every first down.
