Are you hearing anything about this season and the growth of Fab and Dion impacting recruiting...ie opening up previously closed doors, etc. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure we've seen any closed doors in recent years. We know where we want to recruit and we recruit. We know where we can't and no amount of success is going to change that.

Jake could you give an example to illustrate your point.

Isn't it amazing and ironic that as popular as SU is in the city and as big of a draw as the Cuse is in the Garden that we have taken so few recruits from NYC the past several years. The talent level among city kids in terms of elite recruits has been declining too relative what they produced historically.

The same recruits who liked us before the season are mostly still the same who like us now. New names will pop up moving forward but I don't really sense a big change as Jake pointed out. We're in play with many top talent in 2013/14, it's all about closing down the line.

On the flip side, do the flame outs of all our recent first round picks in the NBA hurt us? Do people use this against us? "Oh, dont go to Syracuse, unless you want to be behind the 8 ball like Donte Greene, Jonny Flynn and Wes Johnson. Even Hakim Warrick cant get enough run because he can't defend m2m"

The Melo center might be the draw. Fab and Dion are part of a recent trend of players coming back with resculptured bodies and/or games and making a huge difference. In 2009-2010 it was Scoop and Kirs. There was no big story last year but this year it's Fab and Dion. It will be interesting to see Rak and MCW next year.

Hey Francis--
Seems like we're out on Ennis. Where do we stand with Allerik Freeman?

Okay, this is very cheesy, but as Bret Michaels of Poison would say, "It's better to have lost at love than to never have loved at all." Oh Lord

I'd call Rick Jackson the big story of last year - he finally got himself into terrific shape.

Haven't heard much about Freeman as far as SU is concerned. I would figure that he would've had an offer already if the staff thought they could seriously land him.

I believe a more appropriate quote came from the late-great Colonel Sanders when he said, "I'm too drunk to taste this chicken."

You're right, except he was already pretty good. It wasn't quite so great a leap.
