Ah, you're probably right. Although, I'm not sure that really makes the exchange make much more sense unless he was really hyped about the spare change that was included in his contract.

Contracts are often built around percentages. E.g., “I need 10% more” (1.1x) or “5% of the salary cap” (0.05x).

I don’t care for his style, but his commentary regarding the game and basketball stuff is generally pretty insightful, IMO.

Agreed. He brought up the parts of the game that don't get talked about on air, Devo actually does too, which I love him calling.

I don't like Jay Williams. Something about him really turns me off. However, I thought he nailed a few things about our offense and play at times. Against Texas, he was calling for our guys to cut to the basket when Eddie had the ball looking to pass but no one did. Eddie talked about that very same thing in the presser following the game.

Jay also talked a good bit about Bell needing to put more effort into other aspects of the game. He mirrored what we've been saying on this board for the past year+.

He also zeroed in on JJ's hitch at the free throw line.

He loses focus and lacks some excitement for sure. But he's a sharp basketball analyst and is probably better suited for the studio shows and halftime work vs gameplay.

I think he clearly knows the game well and made many correct points, but as we all know, anyone who went to Duke sucks aggressively. Remember when he gave this long tirade about Frank Howard almost tripping Zion should get a suspension and investigation and all this nonsense and then people posted another clip of him 100% defending Grayson Allen full on tripping multiple people? Yeah, he suuuucks.
