jb has an easy out

ya, assuming this is true, i dont really think it impacts JB at all. JB wont retire on this note. And as long as he is being sincere that he didnt know anything, then he will be fine. He'll coach for a few more years to protect his legacy. maybe even coach longer than he originally planned.

There's no proof "yet" that JB knew anything, which is huge for him.

Do you have evidence that JB knew this was going on? Paterno did. he basically bribed employees to keep their mouth shut about it.

Agreed...I can see this giving JB a second wind...meekly go out with a retirement at the end of this year? no way. The pic on the front of yesterday's sports sections is great. He is fired up. Obviously this is a horrible situation for all involved, but if JB truly has no part of this as we all believe then things shouldn't skip a beat...

cmr27, you really aren't making that comparison are you? Here are the differences. A grad ass't told joepa what he saw. No one did that with jb. Joepa let sandusky go. Why? Because he knew what he was doing. Fine was investigated by a third party the university hired. They didn't find enough to terminate.

Um, excuse me, but McQueary REPORTED to Paterno that he SAW Sandusky banging a 10 year old in the shower, and Paterno covered it up for 20 years.

In our case, an investigation was conducted that cleared Bernie. And the accused owed a debt to Bernie that had not been repaid, providing a plausible reason to believe that a shakedown was taking place.

Completely different scenarios, in my opinion.
