Langel is the next Oats.

Minus the being an idiot after his players are involved in murders part. Just all of the good things.
Our fanbase will lose their minds if he goes to another program and wins.

And lets be honest once he gets a raise from a major conference school we probably can't afford him.

If he can't pull in top 10 classes hes out in 3 years unless hes turning us into UVA and we win a lot.

Next HC for Cuse:
Langel or Jason Hart. Who you got? Can make a strong case for either one.

Do we have the NIL resources to pair the G League Ignite connections to top young players and get them to come to SU instead? If so Hart could have us out recruiting Kentucky.

Langel is obvious and worth taking a shot on before he wins at a bigger school. You can't teach a coach Xs and Os but he might suprise at recruiting. Should line up fine with our expectations across the board and I don't think any former players will be upset. Won't cost a stupid amount so we can part ways sooner rather than later if hes a miss. One of the assistants can go coach Colgate and prove themselves. If we let him go elsewhere and he wins we will look like idiots.

The best win of his career was beating us.(without our center)

He knows who the hell we are.

Lol. Yes. He knows “who the hell we are”

He is currently the president of basketball operations of an NBA franchise and turned down $70 million from IU 2 years ago. He’s not picking the phone up for Syracuse Basketball IMO

Bump
Realistically, Richard Pitno. Board iconoclast Will Wade looks like he's going to Villanova. There are a lot of good coaches who are basically "lifers" at their schools much like JAB was...The Montana coach has won 62 percent of his games in Bozeman...The coach at UC San Diego has been their for 15 years, and he's brought them up to D1...I believe their first year in D1, he went 31-2 during COVID...A guy that I'd take a flyer on would be Ben McCollum, if Red's gone next year...McCollum won 3 Natty's in D2; however, he looks to be a Midwest guy through and through...

There's gotta be some 35-43 year old coach that was a JUCO player, who went up to small time D1 as a player, who's the Lead Recruiter for Mike White at UGA...

If we are using the HCFB heuristic, these two guys look intriguing:
University of Georgia Athletics

I kid...If we go with Mike Hopkins or GMAC as next HC, and Gerry isn't 30-3 at Siena, and a 5 seed, Cuse isn't serious about basketball anymore...

Why was this bumped? Is Red being fired and we are going through alternatives again or is this yet another rehash?

Not sure why it was bumped. I read over the thread and it seems like many posters instincts were correct on several coaches. Also notice how no one was advocating for Red. Seems like we are much better at this than the BoT.

We’ve got a group of fans who insist on being angry we didn’t offer the job to a guy who was never, ever, ever going to accept the job (Pitino) - and it looks like that insanity needs to be relitigated on another thread.

But looking through it - cuseinseattle had the correct grasp of the situation right from the start. I’m impressed…I think the only opinion I’m interested in hearing on who the next coach will be is his.

Yeah definitely most wanted to go off the reservation. Hopefully next time that's the case.
