true but this is one of those cases where two things are true at the same time (and I'd add a glaring 3rd player who had a mostly terrible year, George)JB loves throwing players under the bus. It’s never the coaches fault.
Well jb has plenty of money to donateSaid Donnie and JJ had bad yrs and it cost him his job. And that Cuse needs more resources. But something along the line of it’s still on the coach
Yeah, he was def doing Red a solid on airNot sure what he's supposed to say. He isn't going to trash his former player / someone he worked closely with for many years.
Tough day for Syracuse basketball, even though many in the fanbase look forward to change.
The problem with that argument is...Who picks the players? Is JB wrong about Donnie and JJ? I don't think he is.

The same guy that is supposed to motivation and develop them. The problem with that argument is...Who picks the players?
Wasn't Jim supposed to have spent the past 3 years helping Red get those resources he needed? Or did he get a no-show job with a salary and an office?Ive listened to JB discuss this topic in person. He thinks certain players had disappointing seasons but of course the big issue is funding. He feels Red never had a shot because Cuse doesn’t have enough money to build and keep a team.
Take that how you will. Its what HE says. But its less about attacking players and more about criticizing the program’s fundraising.

Beat me to it - was just going to type - wasn't that part of his responsibility to use his warm and charming personality to free up some bucks from donors?Wasn't Jim supposed to have spent the past 3 years helping Red get those resources he needed? Or did he get a no-show job with a salary and an office?
This has already been proven false by many respected insiders here and off this board as well. We are in the middle of the pack of a very competitive conference. Aka, we should have absolutely made the tournament and maybe even won a couple games this year in march.JB claiming that SU has bottom 3 NIL in the ACC is... something.
I guess add it to the "JB says things" pile.
He was having that leap until he wasn’t. He had a long stretch this year averaging 18 a game. Seems like mentally his game crumbled to the ground.Freeman
Freshman year - 13.4 PPG - 7.9 RPB - 1.4 ASTPG - 0.4 BLK - 0.4 STEAL 1.8 Turn 50.4//33.3/79.6
Sophmore year - 16.5 PPG - 7.2 RPB - 1.3 ASTPG - 0.9 BLK - 0.8 STEAL 2.5 Turn 47.4/30.2/76.7
I would say Donnie didn't have a real down year compared to his freshman year but he didn't have that old school "sophomore" leap.
