Couldn't resist taking a shot at Robey. "We don't do too bad on offense with 4 guys. It would be better if the 5th guy could catch the ball from 4 ft. and do something with it." He hates this kid so much.

He said we are a bad defensive team and we need more out of a few guys. I didn't hear him mention names, but he did say we could figure it out. Don't think he was singling out Robey. Outside of Gillon and White, Lydon was OK. Everyone else played below average.

I like TT's potential - but I really think he would 0 PT if Roberson could do anything on offense. TT hit a few of those open jumpers today - he at least forces the D to be honest.

fwiw after this game lydon ,white and battle will be 1,2,3 in acc minutes played. 15 teams. we've got the top three. good thing ?

if Roberson would just not travel the few times he actually does make a move.. Its weird watching him do moves after the whistle between the legs dribbles and lay the ball in around the basket and then live travel and air ball.

I have been critical of JB about his treatment of Roberson on this board. Tonight I think it is perfectly justified. He didn't play atrocious, but he certainly didn't play well.

Honestly, it just rarely seems like the kid reacts well to the treatment. He came in for the first time, got back on defense by catching up to Lydon who had a 20 foot head start, closed out but gave up a 3 to Rowan. I guess he could have marked him better. I mean, where were the other 4 guys though? Roberson passed them all getting back on defense from under the rim.

Promptly gets benched.

Kid doesn't seem to have the mentality to react well to that stuff. But that's the stuff we keep trying. Maybe he just reacts poorly to everything though. Who knows. An enigma he is. lol

He didn't do much though tonight.

Our guys didn't look winded compared to NC State's guys. I think the only time this is bad is in the ACC Tournament setting where you could be playing several days in a row.

I'm pretty convinced that Lydon is only decent defensively, and only when he's playing the 5. His play on the wing/forward spot is maddening. White and TT had a decent little trap going at one point and Robey doesn't slide over to the middle and they score on a cut down the middle that the guy ends up missing but getting his own rebound. That was terrible.

He really was. I'm one of the biggest Robey apologists here, but he was rotten, especially in the first half. Lethargic.

He's trying so hard to compensate on defense he's running himself out of his primary zone, and it's a big reason we give up so many baskets on bunnies off passes from the elbow. It's really sad to watch.

Moving Lydon from the 4 to 5 isn't good strategy IMO. I'd rather have him master one position, but Taurean probably is so bad on the wing that it's hard to keep him there.

He literally blocked Lydon out on one play in the second half. Comical.

I agree, he doesn't react, which is why I think JB goes way over the top with Robey 95% of the time. Tonight he came in and didn't seem ready to play. Lost a few balls off his hands, left some guys open, and most important he wasn't getting lose balls. Normally I fight for Robey because even when he isn't playing well, he makes big hustle plays. Didn't see those from him tonight.

The game was won, and I suspect big things from him on Saturday. If there is one thing I've learned about TR, it's that he shows up in the biggest games.

Expect a great defensive and rebounding effort!
