JB Presser Live Stream

Jim Boeheim and both his sons are at the post-game press conference.

Jim Boeheim: “Jimmy wanted to get his little brother another game.”

Jimmy Boeheim says "I was playing for this kid today." and nods to his left to Buddy Boeheim.

Jimmy Boeheim: A lot of people didn't give us a chance. They said (Florida State) was Buddy's last game before the (Duke) game even started.'

Jim on final Coach K game: “I’m glad I’m not playing against his players anymore. I’d love to matchup against him…We’ve had some great games and great battles. He means more to college basketball than anyone.”

Jim on coaching his sons: It’s the best season I’ve ever had.

Boeheim on Duke's chances in the tournament: "I like Duke's team. They've got six guys who can get 20."

Buddy Boeheim: "Sitting on that bench today, I couldn't have been prouder of my big bro."

Buddy Boeheim says he would never try to hurt anyone. "It was just an honest mistake."

Buddy Boeheim: "Forget basketball, I want to be remembered for being a good person off the court."

Buddy Boeheim: "The tweet is fine, but I want to apologize to everyone personally...If this is the worst thing I ever do in my life, I can live with that."

Jim Boeheim on refs yesterday, "They didn't do their job, so Buddy got punished. That's what happened."

Jim Boeheim says the referees “didn’t do their job” by not reviewing the play yesterday. Says Buddy should’ve been kicked out yesterday if a Flagrant 2. Then he could’ve played today. “It wasn’t handled right.”

Jim Boeheim says "Ask as many questions as you want. I'm not going anywhere. We're not going anywhere until 7."

Boeheim on his sons, "They'll be nice, they still have my credit card."

Jim Boeheim ends the Syracuse postgame presser by saying "I'm going to miss these guys. You won't see them, but unfortunately you'll see me next year."

JB doublin' down hard on wreckin the officials from the FSU game.

Paraphrasing...

"If they handled it right, he (Buddy) wouldn't have been suspended."

JB's perspective that the ACC's punishment made Buddy pay for poor officiating hard to argue with.
Very well spoken on the topic.

That said, JB's honest assessment vs "taking his medicine" probably won't go over well w/ACC.
Expect more officiating issues for SU in the future.

Don't think the Boeheims could've handled that presser any better.

Coach did a nice job measuring his words and being genuine (better than I would expect a lot of fathers/coaches in his position).

Buddy comes out looking very classy (and has always appeared to be a great kid), IMO Jim looks petty. He says let's move on and then blasts and blames the refs.
Refs deserve to get blasted, not just in this scenario, but in every scenario. Zero accountability for bad performances, one of the only professions where a governing body goes out of their way to defend bad decisions.

We see them review those type of plays all the time. JAB is right. Most schools will have officiating issues because the level of competency is pretty poor. Unfortunately, it's not just Cuse that gets shafted. However, the bad calls usually even themselves out. Against Duke it never is going to. Glad K is bye-bye. Don't think Scheyer will have the same clout.

That was heartbreaking to watch. As upset as I get with Boeheim, in an odd way he feels like family, and I know any frustration I feel he feels it a million times worse.

He and juli did a great job raising their kids. Buddy and Jimmy are miles ahead of most college kids in terms of work ethic, humility, and kindness.

Speaking of accountability, he gave close to zero to his son/player. Buddy handled it the right way.
