JB saying Frank is all league is...

He’s the best that coach has this year. Unfortunately we didn’t quite get Quade. Sucks because I think we’d be a lot more dynamic offensively after getting the chance to watch him play some. Hopefully Carey is ready to bring a similar dimension to next years team.
I agree but we would be much worse on defense

Probably. Hard to say, really. Tyus and Frank go through these stretches where they just don’t get up on those shooters. They just lay back and watch. Can’t afford that. Shot clock is winding down and they are worried about a potential screen. Just get up on the guy!

I was mostly basing it on the fact I think he is 5’11”.

I’m not sure I understand your 3rd point. Are you saying every PG on every team in the top 25 is better than Frank. If so I think your completely wrong.

I think it is very difficult/damn near impossible to be ranked in the Top 25 with Frank as your starting PG. just my opinion and hope I am wrong. Just don’t see it.

If you matched up Frank in a blind test against the other PGs in the ACC, at minimum Frank would be a 3rd teamer. People let their previous biases and the echo chamber this site/twitter/facebook are shape their opinions too much.

If you told me Frank would put up 15/4/6 splits this year, with a 1.5 A/TO ratio, I'd have bit your hand off.

It has been said a number of times that Carey will be the PG when he comes. I was under the impression he was not a pure PG and more of a combo.

He’s a combo, scoring PG. it’ll be interesting because we’ll have Howard, Carey, Hughes, Washington. Obviously Hughes will play SG. And you aren’t going to play Washington at the 2. So then you have Howard and Carey.

frank has indeed far exceeded my expectations this year for sure. but it's about to get real.
let's see how he holds up against superior competition . i wish him the best. we need him.

Your impressions are correct. Carey is not a pass first point guard but can shoot and is really athletic. I think of him as a combo but with really good decision making skills. Many combo guards don’t.

Look, I’m tired of being scolded criticizing Frank. Nothing is factually incorrect, IMO. It’s not his fault he has some limitations, miscast as a PG, etc.

The likelihood of our offense improving moving forward is grim being that we are leaving these mid-major teams and getting some real athletes and better skill. He’s a part of it. Obviously the scheme and roster is flawed. That doesn’t mean I’m not impressed with his transformation (especially mentally) into now a good college player. He has some really slick passes and good plays like JazzNC and others have mentioned. There are plenty of issues beyond a box score and stat line. When he’s dribbling too much way out beyond the three point line, picking up his dribble, and unable to get by a big hedging; that’s a problem. It leads to wasted time, wasted possessions, and our plummeting Offensive Efficiency/Tempo numbers. I would expect most good college players to put up his kinds of numbers on major programs based on his volume/usage.

And we're tired of you saying it over and over and over.

Frank is a tweener. His strength for JB is his length up top. He has a below average handle and is a poor shooter. He is strong and despite his handle gets to the rack. I like his attitude this year as he needs to be in an alfa role. If he can improve his J we have a chance. If not im afraid he is going to struggle in league play.

The supporting cast doesn't mean anything then? Frank is the sole reason we are not Top 25? If Frank was Duke's PG they would drop out of the Top 25?

Quade Green had 2pts and 2 assists today vs UCLA. So much for the idea that he would have solved all our problems.

He would be a guy that could play 10 to 15 off the bench though to spell Frank. Which is what we needed this year.

and is a poor shooter
see I don't agree with this, at least not completely. I mean, yeah his shooting #s indicate he isn't a very good shooter - but he has really good form on his shot. I'd say there's probably a mental block of some kind that's preventing him from maximizing his shooting potential, and bringing up his #s

I think he would have played about 20 with Battle at 35 and Frank at 30. Tyus would get 5 mins at the 3. We'd probably be even more aggressive up top on defense since foul trouble wouldn't be as big a concern.

Franks a competitor and at many times was the only player keeping us in games we easily could’ve been blown out. He’s the difference of 3 wins in my opinion, maybe more.

I agree with Ron Burgundy, trusted newsman. I even agree with Bees, but didnt quote his post and ask for a bit of kindness from him on occasion, lest he think I was messing with him and... lol.
<---strong believer in Frank's potential before/after it was popular on here. Plenty of posts last season to prove it, before the mini-bandwagon started to pick up steam, even though it's popular to take pot shots at me regardless of my record, which I've even put up monetary wagers open to the whole board to take me up on.

Yeah, tooting my own horn a bit, but sometimes we all can benefit from reminders. Besides, it feels good to be right about building up someone when the vast majority of the flamingly vocal are tearing him down, does it not? Merry Christmas to all(but not yet ready to bid you all a good night, just yet!)

Always value your views captain

Word. Cap is awesome.
Big fan of folks with no filter.

Thanks for reminding me, sometimes gentle reminders like yours help, my friend. Sometimes my filters are on ultra clampdown though, it's a sliding spectrum. Sometimes it's tightened far that I dont post or stop by even to peruse. Sometimes it's even more toward the middle, though maybe less so lately. We'll see, anything is possible. Sometimes I miss the subtle hints, but luckily for you(and all! lol) I caught that one.

You are a true man of the people, which someday I may return to being. But for now, like Popeye, I am what I am! BTW, I picked up some spinach recently, forget the day, it's been a bit of a blur after 4 weeks of being straight edge, lol. G*d bless holiday breaks and getting to be back at home! I hope to make more folks happy and less miserable, and sometimes you help remind me to get back on course when Ive lost my way. I dont suppose I'm nornal enough for the regular social cues, but I'm really trying to assimilate to the culture of this host's world as quickly as possible and appreciate the patience and kindness a few of you have rendered unto me. It has not gone unnoticed, and I'd even be down for a group hug right now if this weren't just imaginary symbols ordered on a display device). We do what we can though, am I correct? Can I get a witness??!?!

Do we dislike Boeheim's psychology enough here to prefer he go back to Beoheiming him, and speaking in press conferences like he did about Tyler roberson? JB has quite a spectrum like I just spoke of about myself. I respect his judgment for the most part, but it serves us to be reminded that he is just a man, capable of flaws. I tend to prefer him erring this way than the Roberson way, and I think the results have been sufficient enough so far, and I hope it ends up where he sees it. Plenty of willing to go along for the ride in my fan chair. Certainly not making me as uncomfortable as some of the TRob crap last season, though I suppose we're all allowed our preferences. Go Frank, go JB, go Orange!!
