They said you don't do this in major college football and it was performative to make the team run in front of the fans after the game.

And probably 80% of why he does things, nobody will convince me otherwiseDusty and Danny on the morning college sports radio show both loved it.
One thing is for sure, Fran knows how to get attention.
In hindsight, it would have been entirely cool to watch the coaches running alongside them. Plenty of blame to go around. My biggest problem with this is that it just wasn't the players that played poorly.
Poor playcalling was certainly to blame at times as well in this game.
That's on the coaches.
It's true. Everyone has a right to an opinion. And everyone else has a right to an opinion about their opinion. What's wrong with having an opinion?
Fran spent a lot of the game bitching at his coaching staff on the sidelines, during Saturday's frustrating performance. Maybe it worked -- we got it together at the end. Or maybe it is counter-productive in the long term. Too early to tell.
But Fran for all of his great strengths is still a relatively new, inexperienced head coach. He's still figuring some things out.
So maybe Gruden and Olsen are wrong. Maybe they aren't. Who cares.
Who’s attention is he trying to get?And probably 80% of why he does things, nobody will convince me otherwise
As a coach, or a teacher, or a parent, this is the crux of the matter and critical to DART. Many will say, it's a win, be happy. And I'm happy...or, is it "relieved?" But to get better, to sustain improvement in the pursuit of excellence, and to be able to win when perhaps we shouldn't (on paper), then this needs to happen. That's my opinion, at least. They should be! You cant accept things in a win that you wouldnt accept in a loss. Its part of growing.
And there were maybe 1000 fans in there when it happened. It was after the Alma mater.Who gives a damn what these analysts think! He told the players during the week that win or lose, if they didn't perform up to the standard he was looking for, they would run sprints after the game. He stuck to his promise. I don't think it was "Performative" in the sense that it was done to show the fans...Look how much we care! He would have made them run...if the stadium was empty...because he warned them before hand...the fans just happened to be there. These guys on TV, are always looking for Content...otherwise, they would have no jobs!!..Move on, Next!
Re: Sprintgate, please refer to PAcusewife’s definitive post on the matter.

Fran did it because he was ticked off. [He said "pi$$ed" in the post game TV interview that was broadcast later.] I'm not sure it was to show the fans.I think it was legit. It was done so fans could see that, hey we hear you, and we are not sugar coating this & we feel how you do. It’s not running because they barely won, it’s running because of how they played the game of football with minimal urgency and aggression. And guess what YES Fran does this for attention to a point, and guess what? Cuse football is talked about more in 1.5 years by main stream media then it was in the last decade!! Cuse football is being talked about again.
